i realise that its not what Prince wanted..

But is anyone finding it really cathartic to just scroll through as many videos as possible now that they're on YouTube. I'm hoping maybe his censors have realised this. I miss him so much already and having them available kind of helps, I love the thought of younger people being able to hear Prince for the first time too. Its quite bittersweet, but theres been such an outpouring of love from fans. sad Its been a good way to deal with the grief.

Yeah I agree...I've seen so many classic concert clips and nice tributes in the last 24/48 hrs...It also appears that there getting a lot of hits also. I think that's very cool. Definitley helping with the healing process.

I think Prince would be okay with it.

It's not about bootlegging. It's about remembering and celebrating his genius.

I can't watch a whole clip trough, yet.

But I love watching the beginnings and then of course the tears come.

99% of my posts are ironic. Maybe this post sides with the other 1%.

It's almost like an amusing trick that when we heard the news, everyone wanted to share a clip. But then we remembered. lol You got us good there, Prince!

As you say it is bittersweet. Some videos are still being removed today. I am also slightly uneasy if people are making money from this but hopefully they are just doing it as a way of healing.

I'm torn. I know how he felt about the vault leaks, concert clips, photos. I've had rare material since the 80's, prior to the Internet. Hate to hear myself say it but I prob will avoid any of the new leaks, to honor his wishes. Besides, I have plenty, really.

This is how I feel as well. If it wasn't for my parents being big Prince fans and my lurking on this site over the years, I would never have seen and heard so much material from him. Even if it's only for a little while I'm glad people are posting his vids on YouTube so my generation can get to know more than just Purple Rain.

Prince wouldn't have liked it, but the people of planet Earth deserve it. 2016 is a particularly dark year and we need beautiful music more than ever right now.
