thing is, i've been listening to hjis older albums for the past month all along.... right now i can't bear it though

yeahthat

I just can't.

But I am sooo glad I got my hands on HitNRun 2 from Electric Fetus. I admit, I think the first one was better, but now this last one will have a whole new meaning. I'm sure I'll get into it someday, but it won't be for awhile.... I just can't hear his stuff now because I don't have fellow fans I'm close to in my city, don't know about the gatherings or listening parties that might be happening. But in my mind - wow - can't get lyrics or images from his videos out of my head. It's like an ongoiung soundtrack playing in my brain - it's comforting and saddening at the same time.

exactly! i had that yesterday and all of last night. it's like a whirlwind is blowing in your mind and it
constantly pushes up pictures, video's, live performances, interviews, songs, lyrics etc etc etc. it's
quieted down today, thank god. but yesterday was a very bad day indeed. sad

and true love lives on lollipops and crisps

Trying to make yet another Prince mixtape. I feel like this will be the best one. I'm in no way a religious person. But his music truly brought me to God. If that makes sense. So I want this mix to reflect that. 80 minute blank CD. Suggestions?

All I have so far is The Cross, Dolphin, and Anna Stesia.

I can't listen to reflection yet. it's too much.

Sirius 50 is doing the tribute channel, but I turned to The Loft, and they were playing temptation, which I sang to full capacity, every grunt, growl, and vibrato. it felt good.

It took me about 6 hours before I could finally turn on his music but I've been listening to an interesting choice of songs from Prince.
This is what's been on repeat:

This Could Be Us
Mountains
Do Me Baby
Controversy
Erotic City
17 Days
Batdance
Insatiable

Today 20ten. I do not know why. Today I'm listening Walk In Sand and Sea Of Everything on repeat.

Yesterday I share some songs on social network, Kamasutra Eternal Embrace and Octopus Heart.

Here is what I said on another thread:

I'm afflicted/blessed with Permanent Earworm Syndrome, which means that music is always playing in my head, night and day. In the first few minutes when I was absorbing the reality that my musical hero and creativity guru was suddenly gone, I realized that Black Muse was already playing in the space between my two ears when I first heard the news. It had been there since earlier that day.

I stopped to think about that. He was already on my mind on what was supposed to be a regular day, what is going to happen now that I have the ultimate excuse to dig deep into my collection of released and unreleased material? I mean, I could keep my internal DJ on blast forever and a day.

For you, my fellow orgers, here are the songs I have played since I learned the sad news:

- Popped the SOTT DVD to try and dry my tears, got as far as ICNTTPOYM.

- Someone sang the Purple Rain refrain to me at the office, but I haven't played that song -- too soon.

- Free Yourself

- Black Muse

- Mr. Nelson (wonderful, sounded like an invocation)

- Neon Telephone

- Let's Go Crazy Reloaded

- Moonbeam Levels

- Empty Room (the Blast from the Past FLAC file, took some guts to press play since it could make Kleenex sales increase 1000% if properly released one day!)

- A Case of U (oh lord)

- Crimson and Clover (oh lord part II, this track sounds PERFECT right now).

(I stopped myself from listening to The Breakdown and Hardrocklover, some other day when I'm stronger I will, but because these are so recent it's just harder).

I've been playing everything - on random and repeat.

.

At home, in the gym at work - everywhere!!

.

Yesterday when A Case Of U came onto my headphones, I had to take my headphones off for a few minutes as it was too tough to listen too. He sings that song so beautifully. I can't stop playing the Most Beautiful Girl In The World - there is something very special about that song - he was truly free and spreading his wings.

.

I miss him so much - I just can't believe this has happened.

None.

And it's something I always do when someone I have admired dies. I put on the film, or the CD, in tribute.

.

But I haven't done it with Prince. Not sure why. Maybe it's too painful still. Or it's just in my bones.

Yesterday I just couldn't. I walked into my office in the morning, Little Red Corvette was on the radio, I walked straight up to it and switched it off. I just couldn't.

In Australia we have a station called Double J and they are playing none stop Prince all weekend. This morning I decided I needed to listen, because if I can never listen to his music again because it hurts too much.. Well Prince wouldn't have wanted that.
