So you are worried his religious beliefs will impede you from be satiated through listening to the music is the vault. Which you worry he's too contolling over, something he created, that he owns, he's too controlling over. How about you post all your private messages, emails and texts for the world to see and think about how you'd feel if you had no control over that. That's likely how Prince felt about his music. Like they were his private messages to us and when the day comes that you hear them or some of them, be grateful not selfish or insufferable. I wish people would love everyone even those who are or aren't religious.

Thank you for the dances, thank you for the headbopping, thank you for the anticipations, thank you for the wonder, thank you for the friends, thank you for the sounds. Even thank you for blushes when my mother heard the girl moan on Lady Cab Driver. You made me smile on sad days, you made me laugh on good days. I feel empty now, but I'm alright...you are still with me, a little bit quiter we are now. I know you have a smirk on your face, again. You always knew how to surprize, but man...you really didn't have to this time.
I hope you have found what you were looking for.

I haven't posted on the site in a while, but I have read through the threads occasionally to keep up with Prince's music. After I realized that the news was real, I immediately thought of all the wonderful people I chatted with on this site and what they must be going through since no one I knew could understand why I was so upset and holed up in my room listening to his music.
The only song I couldn't bear listening to was "Sometimes it Snows in April" because it made me cry before yesterday and now the song takes on a whole new meaning.
Anyway, I just wanted to thank the forum and its members for being here as an outlet for Prince fans to communicate with each other. It means a lot. "So shall it be written, so shall it be sung..."

Prince was such a huge part of my life ... An inspiration, an education and an escape. He was the soundtrack to which my life danced, led me on many adventures and meeting some amazing people. His music was there through my heartbreaks and celebrations and having not posted on here for years it's nice to be with people who understand why I cry today. Thank you Prince.

Still in shock - went to Paisley Park today. Total feeling of love for one another. Prince was so in touch with lives from young to old. He was all about the search. Searching for answers regarding politics, religion, race, health, love, and the mis-treatment of animals. Everyone could connect with him in one way or another. Prince passed way to young - but still gave us a LIFETIME of music. He will be greatly missed. There will never be another Prince.
THANK YOU BEN FOR PRINCE.ORG LOVE AND PEACE

Still cannot put into words how I feel. The loss of Bowie was hard...but this is so much worse. Been dealing with some real bad crap in my personal life, and like so many times in the past I had turned to Prince's music to cope. I was listening to the extended version of "I Would Die 4 U" in my car when my sister texted me the news...it just seems surreal. Do not hurry yourself in your spirit to become offended, for the taking of offense is what rests in the bosom of the stupid ones. (Ecclesiastes 7:9)

Today, while sad, mourning and crying, I am also reflecting. I am reflecting and thinking that this larger than life person who we thought and prayed would not only never dye, but that he would never age, never change his svelt appearance, never lose the ability to hit the high notes or the base notes. He and we were able to ride the ride for almost 40 years with Prince still looking the same by and large, still singing the same by and large, still commanding the stage, albeit without the splits and jumping off speakers the way he used to. We were still intoxicated watching him play the guitar, piano, bass and occasionally drums. We still melted when he would sing songs like Do me Baby, Scandelous, Insatiable, Adore and others.
We looked forward to the next album and anticipated the next time he would perform in our area. Thanks to the Org., Dr. Funkenberry and others for keeping us abreast so we could get the best seats and maybe snag a ticket to an aftershow because we heard it here first. That for me is what I will miss most. We will always have the music, the videos, the bootlegs of the shows we saw and others to listen to. Hopefully we will get his memoirs and a lot of the music in the vault too in the years to come, but we will never get a chance to see him live again. He went out on top. He went out with the same mystique in which he lived, at the top of his game. He went out still in full form of the command of his music, not worrying about losing his voice, his ability to command a stage and an audience, still with all the mystique in which he lived. Ah yes, the mystique! He went out during a thunderstorm after which their was a beautiful rainbow over Paisley Park. He died in an elevator, and now he has punched a much higher floor. He died in April, after their was snow earlier in the month. He told us to save our prayers for a few days. He made his final tour for just Prince and his fans, not Prince and the Band and he opened up to us in a way he never had during those shows. I am so grateful to have made the trip to Paisley Park in January from NYC and, for the last of over 40 times over the past 33 years, sat in the front for both shows---nothing and no one between Prince and me for the last time I would witness him.
As I said in an ealrlier post, I have had three dreams in the past few months about him dying and have cried several times in the car the past few months while listenting to his music. It was weird, but I somehow expected this. Yes, the mystique of the man in life and in death. He grew into a perfect musical giant and now he leaves us still a giant--a perfect (as we can be as humans) humanitarian, musician, person. It has been quite a ride. I cry not for Prince, but for myslef, I will truly miss the anticiptation of the next concert or album. I will miss reading the reviews here on the org (and oh those people who complained when he played Purple Rain at every show and other hits--what would we give now to hear it live one more time).
Prince, you have been and are Forever in My Life and I wish you Heaven!

barates said: Just so sad Thanks for the incredible music and live shows The news is almost too much to take. I know I didn't know him, but like the rest of us, Prince's music affected me on such a personal and spiritual level that I feel I've lost a family member. I just can't believe that I'm never again going to have the anticipation of knowing that HE'S in the studio working on a new album, or the excitement that his tour is getting rave reviews and 'It's coming to my town. I guess in time I'll finally accept this awful news, but right now I'm heartbroken. R.I.P Prince, you are and always will be the greatest.
