Today the world is feeling a void. A huge void of creativity has been opened up and it's up to each of us to fill the void. CREATE! Create, create, create! Whether you draw, paint, write, or play music, create something the world has never seen or heard before.

As Prince said, when you create, it's God's speaking through you. So let him.

You owe it to Prince, you owe it to the world, you owe it to yourself...

Create!!

I love you Prince. My life was never the same after I bought the Batman album when I was nine. I know we all have to go but it's not easy to say goodbye. Go be with your Jehova now. I love you forever.

Utterley heartbroken, numb & it all feels so surreal. Been a fan since '83, seen his 40+ times in the UK class me as hardcore. Like many of you here I have met & made the most amazing friends over the years through the gigs.

What i feel right now is a huge sends of pride & luck. Pride that the whole planet woke up & are rightly acknowledging the fact that he was a 1 off, noone like him before & damn sure no one will come close now or in the future. Lucky in the sense that through thick & thin I got to follow simply THE greatest artist of a generation...probably THE greatest ever.

A huge hole has been left in our lives but he left us with so many amazing memories & music.

Lets celebrate his genius. Much love to you all.

I was at the Spike Lee party yesterday in Brooklyn. It was such a relief to be with others and for the mood to be celebratory rather than funereal (as it has been in my head since I heard the news.)

Big thanks to Spike for moving so fast to get a street-closure permit in NYC in a few hours' notice (!) and for sharing his love of Prince with us.

I am spending my day watching YouTube footage that I'm quite sure will be taken down very soon - so I want to get my fill now.

'All of this and more is for you
With love, sincerity and deepest care
My life with you I share '

And thank you so much Prince for sharing it with us.

I am devastated right now, cannot talk to anyone about it, part of my life has gone with him, I can't believe I wont see him again. So so sad sad

Times a good healer, and I look forward to being able to listen to his music again and tell everyone how proud of him I was and still am, but right now I am hurting bad, real bad.

God Bless and Rest in Peace my beloved Prince

I haven't posted anything in a few years, but do get a chance to lurk everyday. Yesterday was the day that I never thought would happen. I wanted to come here to share a moment with the REAL PRINCE FANS, not the Purple Rain, Little Red Corvette, Let's Go Crazy, Kiss fans, but the ones that know about TRC, The Black Album, NEWS, Xenophobia, and all the other obscure songs and albums that didn't make the POP charts. I've been a fan for 33 years and will be 'til the day I die. I know that Prince was like a family member who meant so much to all of us here, through the ups and the downs, the joys and sorrows, lost and celebrations, marriages, kids, colleges, weddings, births and deaths. His music couldn't always be explained but we knew it was something that captured our hearts, meaning something different but personal for all of us. I can't look at the TV anymore or listen to the radio because it only brings tears. I don't know what had happen and don't want to know. I want to remember him wonderfully vibrant and beautiful. I'm thankful for sharing his gifts with us. I can't imagine a world without ever knowing a Prince song. Prince was the soundtrack of my life, but I guess all songs must come to an end. Thank you Prince, you are well loved and very much missed. Prayers to your family. Hugs to the fellow fans during this shocking time. I just wish I could stop crying.

There was a time in my life when his music was my only friend, so his death feels personal. I wish I could have thanked him for that. I'm sure I am not alone in that. He may have done what he did only for himself, but what a gift we all had from it. I have no new music to look forward to, and that is a loss for my years to come.

So many of his songs were the soundtracks of my days, and the inspiration of my hopes.

Rock those pearly gates bad boy, I imagine you will.

We are all so full of doody here

''I Know He Loved You Too'': Prince's Sister Greets Fans

April 22

Prince's sister Tyka Nelson reportedly greeted fans who had gathered outside of the late musician's Paisley Park compound in Chanhassen, Minnesota, on Thursday.

"He loved all of you," Tyka (aka Tika Nelson) told the crowd, according to Sky News. "Thank you for loving him back."

Hundreds of mourners had gathered outside the compound to pay tribute to the star after news of his death broke on Thursday.

Tyka, who lives in Minneapolis, also posted messages to fans on what appears to be her Facebook, writing, "Hi, Thank U 4 Loving My Brother! He LOVED Playing His Music & I KNOW He Loved U 2."

She also quoted John 15:13, writing, "Greater love has no one than this, that one lay down his life for his friends."

Don't people wanna die from old age anymore?

Take it easy people...

They're creeping back onto YouTube, go watch 1999 maybe? He seems happy in that.

With Prince...all we gotta do, is start from the beginning again.

Yessssss! I've been asked by a Belgian/Dutch music magazine to write a piece on Prince. I've been struggling the right words since the devastating news reached me. This is exactly the message I want to send out, because I feel like this is the message he's sending us. Can I quote this statement and add your org-name to it?

been a while...coming outta the woodworks here but never stopped being a fan.

the thing i am struck by the most is the loss of his genius. It's as if there is a collective global intellect that we can feel in life, and now it's just gotten way, way smaller.

Really gonna miss him! April is the cruellest month...

Awful, awful news yesterday. Some beautiful tributes though from all over. Don't think I'll cry till I brave a Prince marathon though. Just feel numb and sort of in denial but trying to think of all the amazing experiences I had at concerts and sitting up till stupid o'clock over the years to watch a broadcast or get some tiny bit of 'news' he was teasing us with, and of course all the wonderful people on here.
