R.I.P. PRINCE... WHAT'S THE FUTURE...

Now that he is gone... What will be the future of his music? This site? Will all the negativity cease now. I can't believe this. Worst day of my young life... God rest his soul.

ugh. i don't know what to say or where to even begin. except to say thank you prince,

for the hundreds if not thousands of hours that your music, films and concerts gave me
life, joy, comfort and hope. growing up with your music has made me a better person,
it certainly helped me overcome many things. so thank you for that, for everything you
gave to us. it's sad to see you leave us, but at least your music will be with us forever.

and true love lives on lollipops and crisps

One of the worst days of my life. no words can describe it. His music saved me so many times. He was the greatest recording artist ever. I was a broke teenager living in a studio apt. with no furniture and his music gave me strength. Sept 1978 I rode my bike to the record store and bought the Soft & Wet single. Pure unadulterated genius. There will never be another artist like him

I'm broken. Music is dead to me. I just visited my sister's grave yesterday. She was a massive Prince fan. And now he's gone. It's just too much.

Ah, I am gutted. I told my 8 year old daughter we'd go see Prince the next time he was in Ireland. My 3 kids are big fans, my 3 year old sings along. What an amazing artist, I am so lucky to have seen him live on a number of occasions. I am so lucky to have had his music in my life for over 30 years. Prince supplied the soundtrack to my life.

I'm so glad this site is back up today.
I hope the site continues. I know fans are on other social media platforms, but I like this site. Sometimes when I'm bored, I even read old threads - that's how I learned so much about releases (official, unofficial), and all those concerts when he let fans attend soundchecks, the 21 nights fan reviews, the PP celebrations, etc.
The concerts forum may be closed down (God, makes me sooo sad to say that!), but I'd like to still have this place - I don't know if I'm ready to let this go too just yet.

Well if the rumors of the "vault" are half true we will enjoy years of new music in the future. I don't post on this side of the org often. Me and prince kinda went in different directions in the 90's, but when i saw the news, I thought well there is only one thing to do on this cloudy midwest day. I hooked up the old lp player and slowly working my way thru all of the 12 inch extended remixes I have. It's not making me sad, it's making me happy for the gift that I was lucky enough to get.

I had forgot had great Glam Slam actually was. Next us Escape.

The future:

Memoir is cancelled due to lack of input. Maybe an official biography? (Where is Per...?)

The Purple Rain remaster could be a hot item but can WB secure a deal now that Prince is dead?

The Vault: must not be destroyed nor locked up.

Follow the money...

Pills and thrills and daffodils will kill... If you don't believe me or don't get it, I don't have time to try to convince you, sorry.

My daughter phoned me last night to tell me the news. I was a mess all evening, crying and just sat staring at the News in disbelief. I have work today and cannot pull myself together. I never thought he would die at such a young age. It's so surreal.

It's so heartbreaking and the fact his death seems so peculiar too. He should have been with his loved ones, not in an elevator, probably been there ages until he was found. It's so sad.

I'm going to wear purple eyeshadow and flicks for him today. I will be thinking of you guys here too. I don't post much but often read posts here. I'm from the uk, but my heart is in Minneapolis for now. sad

I think he knew he was gonna to pass, I think he had a terminal illness. You can tell because he never write a memoir and work even more hectic then usual and record 4 albums worth. I think he may of thought he had longer to live, but unfortunately his health got worse quicker then anticipated.

Prince's Secret Health Struggle: Everything We Know About the Circumstances Surrounding His Mysterious Death | E! Online Mobile

Fri., Apr. 22, 2016 12:00 PM PDT by Zach Johnson

Prince, Purple Rain
Warner Brothers

Prince didn't want the world to know he was in pain.

When the 57-year-old singer took the stage in Atlanta Apr. 14, he apologized to fans for canceling two concerts the week prior—unaware that the performance would ultimately be his last. "I was a little under the weather," Prince said. "But we're here now, and I'm going to take this time to thank each and every one of you for coming out and enjoying this time with us." Perhaps presciently, Prince also told the audience of about 200 fans, "Wait a few days before you waste any prayers."

As one concertgoer recalled to NBC News Friday, Prince also thanked his doctor multiple times on stage. "The doctor was standing on the stage next to him and he wanted everybody to give an applause for that. Then about five seconds later he said, 'Let's give another applause for him.' It was kind of weird because the doctor he didn't even put his hand up or anything; he just kind of stood there. So, it was a little awkward in that moment," Patricia Chavez said. "I didn't really realize it, didn't think anything, but maybe he was a little bit more sick than he gave off."

After the show, Prince's private plane made an emergency landing in Moline, Ill. His rep claimed that the "Purple Rain" singer was battling a prolonged case of the flu, but a source with direct knowledge of the events told NBC News that the jet was diverted because an "unresponsive male" needed immediate medical attention; Executive Jet Management had "no comment" regarding that particular flight, the passengers, or any flight that it operates. Airport police contacted the Moline Fire Department for EMS service Saturday, and Prince was rushed to the hospital. Just before noon, though, his plane was back in the air and en route to Minneapolis.

"There was some concern from those in his circle about his appearance and something changed with his energy," a source close to Prince tells E! News exclusively. "Prince was very energetic and lively, on stage and in general, but the past few months or year he hadn't been himself. He seemed off and his energy level was down." Another insider says some people feared "he was going to die" after the incident, so he hosted people at Paisley Park later that night to convince them he was OK. "He wanted to have the party so people knew he was still alive."

The public didn't question it further. But it became increasingly hard for Prince to hide his issues from his inner circle. According to one of his friends and collaborators, "A week or so ago he started not feeling well and expressed that to a few close friends. He never spoke about what the illness was, only that he was fighting a cold and he will get better and not to worry. He never liked to complain." Prince was recently supposed to go out to dinner with friends, but he canceled at the last minute. "He said he was still not feeling well and he needed to reschedule."

NEWS: Hollywood reacts to Prince's death

"He had not looked well for the last year," someone who's known Prince for 30 years tells E! News. "People were worried about him." According to another source, "He had a very bad hip and needed a hip replacement but wouldn't get it fixed." Because he was a Jehovah Witness and believed in bloodless treatments, the source said he "couldn't have a blood transfusion" needed during surgery. To cope with his discomfort, multiple sources confirm to E! News that Prince had been taking Percocet, a narcotic that can treat moderate to moderately severe pain.

An autopsy was completed Friday at 12 p.m. ET and it will help determine what caused Prince's death; results are pending. Prince's body has since been released to his family. Though TMZ reported that Prince had been hospitalized for a drug overdose less than a week before his death, those close to him refuse to believe he would ever abuse hard drugs. "He was too much of a perfectionist, too much of a workaholic. He wouldn't have derailed that," his friend of 30 years tells E! News. "The announcement of his autobiography, his music—he would never let anything get in the way of that. He wouldn't have ruined it." As his friend L.A. Reid said on Today, "The thing that really bothers me about it is the Prince I knew was super healthy, vegan, wasn't an abuser of drugs, wasn't an abuser of alcohol.

Reid said what many are thinking: "The whole thing is really mysterious to me."

(E! and NBC are both members of the NBCUniversal family.)

the more information that comes out the more suspicious its starting to sound... was it the norm for him to be alone in Paisley Park? especially after being hospitalized?
