Luckily Prince keeps a small briefcase containing several viles of pure KCOOLMUSIQ tears, of numerous vintages, on him at all times for such an emergency. Not only do they work as a pacifier to calm the nerves before a show, they are said to slow down the aging process and promote dexterity.

I know of an anti-hemorrhoidal cream that claims to do all those things.

During the Nude Tour I was at Boy Scout camp. I leaved the camp in the middle, took a train dressed like boy scout, arrived in Torino and I discovered that Prince cancelled concert. And he cancelled all the concerts in Italy. He never returns in Italy until One Alone Tour.

I agree, the tear could have many meanings. It could mean any number of these things:

"I'm sorry I had to cancel the concert and disapoint my fans"

"I'm touched by the response of my fanbase who are wishing me well"

or of course, but we really hope he doesn't mean "There is something serious going on with my health at the minute".

It needs to be vocal for us to understand exactly what it means. And with the last possiblilty, I honestly don't blame fans for being skeptical about his health, the man just announced he's planning on releasing his memoirs next year. Something VERY out of character for him. So whilst I'm not going to jump to conclusions about anything just yet, I don't blame people for getting a little worried.

So I guess in the digital age a picture still paints 1000 words.

Because that's what some people do. Didn't you say that Prince has his own way of communicating? And then you bring up James Brown, who was ready to let the show go on while on his death bed. Like Prince is James Brown now. You are no help.

That's what some people do? Who? I'm just surprised by this idea that was brought up on this thread that writing your memoirs somehow means your health is failing. James was simply one example of someone who wrote his life story without having any health problems. Sheila E is another. Bob Dylan is another. When did the news of Prince's book come out? A month, three weeks ago? Did he know he was going to get the flu back then? I'm no help because no help is needed. All we can do is wait for the man to get better which I'm sure he will.

First, does worrying change anything? Worrying is not going to help Prince get well. It is only going to cause you sleepless nights, disrupted days, and obsession. Fill your heads and your hearts with positive thoughts, love and healing vibes towards Prince (that will do him more good) and let the negative thughts go. Be present here and now with what is, not what "might be". Might be doesn't mean it is and doesn't mean it will be. What is, is Prince announced he had the flu earlier in the week, postponed a couple of shows later that week, and that is all we know. That is certainty. All the rest is supposition and isn't real.

Second, I'm only surmising what the tear drop means. I mean, if it were me, and I felt like crap, seeing all the well-wishes would definitely touch me deeply and cause me to shed at a tear at the outpouring of love toward me. Would I say more than that? No. Why? Because I wouldn't feel that I would need to, that my expression would say it all (and probably more effectively than words can). Also, if I don't feel good, I don't want to talk with any one. I don't want to sit at a computer and type words. I don't want to do anything but suffer in silence and have everyone leave me alone in my misery. So, no, he doesn't need to give us an explanation of what it means. He doesn't need to say "thank you". He doesn't need to do anything except heal at his own pace and be himself. And Prince felt the picture with the added teardrop said everything he wanted to say. Be thankful he even made that "statement" (whatever it might mean), because honestly, he didn't have to. At least we know he is alive with that statement, whereas if he had made none, and the teardrop had not appeared, there are a few that would have imagined him gone already.

Third, as much as we are fans of his music, as much as we care for him, he doesn't know us. As such, we're not privvy to private information, personal thoughts and feelings, except for what he chooses to convey in his music or in interviews. Due to this, it leaves a lot of room for suppositions and imaginations, and until Prince chooses to share anything further, that is all we have. But imagining and supposing the worst only puts that energy out there into the universe. Instead, imagine him fully recovered, in great health, and funky as ever, a much better use of that energy you're sending into the universe. For instance, the night of the ATL shows, I watched "Purple Rain" and "Grafitti Bridge". I saw Prince doing what he does best. Today, I will be listening to his music, while I go about my day. Listening to him sing about God and the love I feel rising in me, is much better energy to emit than imagining the worst.
