You know, that "whatever" really comes across as condescending. My post was meant merely as a bit of brevity, (though I won't eat jello any more), so not sure why that attitude. He's okay, iZsaZsa. If he weren't, we would know it. He's only one of the most famous musicians in the world. Remember when John Lennon died? Or Michael Jackson? The world knew about it within hours. He's just sick and taking the time he needs to get better. As we get older, we don't recuperate as quickly as we did when we were younger, and it takes more out of us. Honestly, to me, the "no news is good news" is the old adage I'm going by. I'd rather hear nothing, knowing that nothing says there is nothing to report, than to hear something else.

First, does worrying change anything? Worrying is not going to help Prince get well. It is only going to cause you sleepless nights, disrupted days, and obsession. Second, I'm only surmising what the tear drop means. I mean, if it were me, and I felt like crap, seeing all the well-wishes would definitely touch me deeply and cause me to shed at a tear at the outpouring of love toward me. Would I say more than that? No. Why? Because I wouldn't feel that I would need to, that my expression would say it all (and probably more effectively than words can). Also, if I don't feel good, I don't want to talk with any one. I don't want to sit at a computer and type words. I don't want to do anything but suffer in silence and have everyone leave me alone in my misery. So, no, he doesn't need to give us an explanation of what it means. He doesn't need to say "thank you". He doesn't need to do anything except heal at his own pace and be himself. And Prince felt the picture with the added teardrop said everything he wanted to say. Be thankful he even made that "statement" (whatever it might mean), because honestly, he didn't have to. At least we know he is alive with that statement, whereas if he had made none, and the teardrop had not appeared, there are a few that would have imagined him gone already.

Third, as much as we are fans of his music, as much as we care for him, he doesn't know us. As such, we're not privvy to private information, personal thoughts and feelings, except for what he chooses to convey in his music or in interviews. Due to this, it leaves a lot of room for suppositions and imaginations, and until Prince chooses to share anything further, that is all we have. But imagining and supposing the worst only puts that energy out there into the universe. Instead, imagine him fully recovered, in great health, and funky as ever, a much better use of that energy you're sending into the universe. For instance, the night of the ATL shows, I watched "Purple Rain" and "Grafitti Bridge". I saw Prince doing what he does best. Today, I will be listening to his music, while I go about my day. Listening to him sing about God and the love I feel rising in me, is much better energy to emit than imagining the worst.

He chose to post a picture of his avatar with a tear drop, for whatever reason. And obviously, since no further statement or explanation has come, he felt that was enough. He could say, "Thank you", but he didn't. Instead, he posted a tear on his avatar. There are a lot of things he "could" do, but the truth is what is, not what could be.

lol - thanks for explaining! So yeah, it would be nice to know he's doing better, but until he decides to update us, there isn't anything we can do except send him love and well wishes for a speedy and full recovery. Hang in there, iZsaZsa, he will be okay. He's Prince. God has his back.

Sure. A tear for fans worrying about you is so much better/clearer than a word of "Thank you, I'm okay." I wouldn't do that to people who loved me.

Or maybe he does and he just gets tickled at what people take from the things he does say or do and twist those things into what they think, not what he intended. Prince is the king of ambiguous language, though he may not realize he is being ambiguous, and may be surprised at the interpretations others put onto what he says. -- But, also, keep in mind that we're not a part of his inner world. We're fans, yes, we love his music, but he doesn't know us personally, just as we don't know him personally. I'm sure those that know him personally, intimately, his friends, know how he is doing. The rest of the world (his fans) will just have to wait until he feels well enough to let us know.

No need to apologize. I understand. Just keep in mind there is nothing that worrying will do for him. Focus on a healthy Prince, send those vibes to him. No need to be scared. As long as there is no news right now, then we know he's still okay, just recuperating and resting, which is what he needs. As soon as he's well enough, we'll hear from him.

I can see him right now. Next to the cough syrup and asprin, he probably has a guitar, a small keyboard and some recording gear next to his bed. He's probably writing songs while he's under the weather...he's gonna be fine.

I also agree with all prittypriss has said. I was listening to his music as I went around running errands today and it really did help to send out those good vibes of well being into the universe and toward Prince and everyone else too ^_^
