During the Act I tour in 1993, he postponed 2 show in Los Angeles due to being sick. You can hear it in his voice at the DNA Lounge aftershow in San Francisco, that was just a few day prior. TRUE BLUE |

The current strains of flu going around are no joke. My wife is otherwise healthy and spent 5 days in the hospital with the flu. |

That was the show I was to attend! It was announced merely an hour b 4 showtime it was cancelled.

For it being a one-man show and the traveling, I say kudos to him and the success with this intimate tour (highly doubt current artists would of pulled this off). However, he is human and not invincible  . Health and his well-being should be a priority and once that's taken care of...on with the show  (couldn't find piano emoticon  )Don't need no reefer, don't need cocaine..Purple music does the same 2 my brain

The Vault has a page for Cancelled & Rescheduled gigs and lists over 450 announced dates that were either moved or shelved for various reasons. And they state there that the list is by no means exhaustive.

Hope he gets well too, cancelling for a flu is common in this day of "If you have a cold or a flu, stay away from us at work" mentality. . I also feel sorry for the fans. On facebook I knew a lot of people were very excited about these shows, and now they don't know when they are going ahead. Especially as this was announced like 3 or 4 hours before the 1st show. . It could be worse, a frail looking vegan at the age of 57 is not exactly the most robust constitution, a flu can do more damage to him than someone in their 30s with meat on their bones and a normal diet. Luckily Prince keeps a small briefcase containing several viles of pure KCOOLMUSIQ tears, of numerous vintages, on him at all times for such an emergency.
