Sounds in Positivity from Lovesexy... I'm listening to Positivity from Lovesexy for the first time and I noticed some sounds in the background while Prince is talking. What is that? 4:55-5:12. Sounds like mouth sounds (maybe even water?) but I'm not sure.  you can do anything | |

I think he's just talking with a hard candy or cough drop oin his mouth.

I think the compressor is set so high that you hear his tongue and saliva splashing. The Colors R brighter, the Bond is much tighter

He's done similar things on other songs, and it seems obvious to me since 1988. We even talked about it when we first were spinning the vinyl. Maybe our sense of sound is more definitive then yours? In all seriousness is it not just plainly clear to the ear?
Didn't he do something similar recently in "Gold Standard"? Maybe I'm just remembering his old man voice in that one.
