A little off subject, but I remember before Diamonds and Pearls came out and there was an article in some magazine (Vibe, Spin???). Anthony Kiedis had been invited to Paisley Park to listen to the album. This is a link to the Red Hot Chilli Pepper book where Anthony is talking about it. It's pretty cool.

The only connection I am aware that Prince has to The Red Hot Chilli Peppers is that the ecstacy he took in 1987 that resulted in him cancelling the black album was supplied to Cat from one of the members of TRHCP.

Cat was/is good friends with Anthony Kiedis, so he might have been around Prince since 1987

.

That was part of the promo, they also invited journos so the advance press for the album would be "famous person X thinks it is amazing".
