THE FIVE BEST PRINCE SONGS YOU WON'T HEAR ON THE RADIO

Prince is one of the most talented and successful artists of all time but much of his best work remains criminally uncelebrated. Here are five choice cuts of pop brilliance that most likely won't see the light of day on your radio stations:

1. "Bambi" (from PRINCE, 1979): A fuzzy rocker that has Prince trying to convince a lesbian to convert to heterosexuality so that he can have her instead.

2. "If I Was Your Girlfriend" (from SIGN O' THE TIMES, 1987): An achingly heartfelt plea to his lady (Susannah) to share the closeness that she has with her platonic friends and sister (Wendy).

3. "And God Created Woman" (from LOVE SYMBOL, 1992): A story of creation that unfolds in three stages: birth of man and woman in the garden of Eden, the threat of sin, and life outside of Eden.

4. "Colonized Mind" (from LOTUSFLOW3R, 2009): One of the most powerful protest songs in his catalog that delivers a targeted blow to a number of social and political problems.

5. "Revelation" (from HITNRUN: PHASE TWO, 2015): A slow-burn ballad about a lover that Prince wants to be united with forever. His vocals float on the jazzy melody of drums, bass, synths, and sax.

Which five Prince songs do you believe should be played on the radio? Comment below and thanks for reading!

IFWYG used to get TONS of play on R&B radio. I don't know about now though as I don't listen to radio anymore.

I don't argue with people about my opinions. Scram. I said what I said.

Here in Mexico, just the PR songs are the only ones which get any play.

I hear it occasionally in old school mixes and programs. V103 in Chicago plays it a lot on the weekends.

I'm sure many of these songs have been played on the radio, not that we have access to every radio station in human history.

The more obscure ones would never be played:

1. Dance On.

2. Scarlett Pussy.

3. Shockadelica.

4. Girl.

5. Hello.

All you others say Hell Yea!! woot!

Crystal Ball, anything from the truth, which is a real shame. That could have been a hit album. It still could be.
