RIP Brian Gallagher (Hornheadz, also known for his instrumental version of "The Most Beautiful Girl In The World")

Brian played on many Prince-releases from the early to late 1990s as a member of the Hornheadz. Please check this topic in the associated artists forum.

.

I'm also posting it here because that forum isn't as popular.

This is really tragic. He was only 52. Brian's association with Michael Bland was instrumental in the forming of the NPG Horns for the D&P tour in 1992. He was a natural talent and lived and breathed music. I still remember walking with him, wide-eyed, into the Tokyo Dome to play our first Prince concert all those years ago. I think one of the first tracks we recorded with Prince was Sexy MF. He did his solo in 1 take, and Prince made him learn it to play note for note on tour. He said, "That's the problem with playing something that's genius, people make you play it over and over again". I was fortunate enough to play with him again recently in an instrumental band along with NPG alumnus Tommy Barbarella. He always played from the heart and was a treat to share the stage with. His gentle soul will be greatly missed in our Mpls community, and his 3 children are much too young to have lost their father.
