• I just had some serious nostalgia, I came across a post I made about WNPG Shoutcast radio, and I had posted it was going to be be a real funky night. a This is 2004.

• I read further and realized that it was MY radio station... I ran wnpg.servequake.com. I 100 percent forgot I did that.

• You all listened. The server couldn't handle you all sometimes. It is so long ago, when it was so amazing to be a fan, that compared to being a Prince fan NOW, I actually forgot that it was ME who put that station up for other fans.

• Other fans who listened.

• And do not get me started on TRH. I still imagine/KNOW somewhere there is SOMETHING close enough, and no one will ever tell me because I miss some coded language or no one has my email since I changed from theastarr@gmail.com (send them hatemail, it was my first gmail and it was hacked, when you still needed an invite for gmail. So I'm starrfighter now, and I'll bet the only people that can hack THAT password is on this board).

• I'm afraid I am missing out on places like things used to be because I don't read every day anymore. Every time I pop on, people are getting flamed for complaining, when how could you not agree with Prince complaints? Tour/no tour, RemixRemasters/None, i'll tell you a about a show tonight and then make it a party and not even show even though I live there why? because... I understand Prince frustrations.

• DigitalGarden, you pain in my ass becuse what I just said puts me in a mood where I go, even if it was just one show I WAS AT for a keepsake, never mind the many external hard drives I need to get in a cloud before they die as they are royally the hub of all my music, I don't know where to get them but I know they exist. I'm just so...I feel like I put my time in and either there is nothing or I know nothing. Meanwhile I see covers and whatnot of a neverending stream of MORE... THAT is also frustrating.

• Now I am so dissallusioned how someone can't even get remix/remaster (think of all things KISS Destroyer where it was not just remastered but remixed without gimmicks, just a better mix). Or the Beatles 2009 Remasters... They actually remixed it too though more subtle as I think they will be the definitive releases. BUT they started by transferring tape to the highest audio bitrate/khz to have an archival copy FOREVER. Then they mixed and mastered. Now they are using that same archival file to do the same for vinyl, but the way they did it... has given them the ability for mix and master FOR VINYL, unlike the suveniers with the same mix as digital other bands peddle. Next up Beatles, heavy remixes, again using the archival transfer and THEN trying to kick ass. Maybe youll like the way they did 2009 attempting to be close on mix and more focused on remaster... But they aren't just playing with compression and volume. Think of Let it Be Naked. That is a test for the future. Some will be our favorite versions, some we will side closer to the 2009 close to original track.

• PRINCE, HELLO: YOU, THE BEATLES, and like... YES are deserving of this. The only one not doing it is Prince.

• You know what. It was just so good. Musicology number 1 built into the ticket price. Genius. 3121 he's Willy Wonka with Purple tickets. OK thats cool. Festival around his birthday he may or may not celebrate. And holy god One Night Alone in NYC which as an NPGMC member a 90 minute-ish soundcheck where two women showed up late and Prince is sitting probably in row 15 just to put a comfortable 3 or 4 row difference between us and him to be comfortable (no security really, very chill) but he wanted to hear his band like we would later that night and the women walk by and one says way too loud to the other "OMG thats PRINCE!", and the other was like "No no no, that ain't Prince). but just because he's sitting there did not mean he had a microphone or couldn't hear these ladies. There is a joke about him doing this that I don't think happened in another time a location, BUT I was right there and he goes in his deepest voice into the microphone "THIS IS PRINCE", one of those ladies almost fell over. It was awesome.

• Little did I know, again great seats thank you NPGMC, a 3 hour real show, Jazz, deep cuts, piano including purple rain, but I am NPGMC, I didn't have to secretly find after party/show, they said over the PA aftershow where it would be They just announced it. No detective work. No cover for NPGMC and NPGMC were allowed to a small GA are that went all the way to the front of the stage. I knew it might be there cuz George Clinton was playing there earlier that night, didn't know alicia keys would show but...awesome. As I am wlking there I go past the now defunct Howard Johnson Diner in time square, I look through the window there is only two people in one booth there. Thought he was facing away, the hair, I'm walking past george clinton in the Hojo diner, so I go in and order a Fuzzzy Navel (dont judge me I ws 18.. ahem 23 from california) just to verify I am correct, and I so am. and HE is going back to the club to get in on the prince aftershow too. George needed some xanax and bed but he chose an alternate route. Ha he said so. Told him I'll see him there.

• WHERE IS THAT? WHERE ARE TICKETS THAT DO NOT COST OR EVEN DO COST $500 AND STILL DONT GIVE THE EXPERIENCE WE USED TO HAVE?

• I have so many stories, I could tell them all here, and you may or may not find them interesting, but the enthusiasm with which I just told, Or i could tell first night elecetion night and my first prince show Hit N Run 2000 Worcester. Election night.

• But we just don't get sucked into these things, because Prince is blowing it.

• The intention of this post was to just say Hi, I haven't posted in a long time but I hope some people remember me, and then I complained too... It's So Easy.... is that really the best we can hope for?

• Prince would still make a mil overnight if he cut his prices in half, Housequake, the one before digital garden AND Digitial Garden, Where is my hub? BT I'll take a pass. Its bout community, not profit for free but isolated from like minded people. Fams, not fans. Where are my people? We didn't have reasons to complain here, or housequake or TRH (which ws the best place to be a prince fam, and in a way it wasn't its overt main purpose that made it great (though my god... if you know you know), it was the fams and the talks.

• How is this not happening anymore? Really? TRH they managed to take down before Silk Road (if you know what that was, I only learned after the fact but WOW... priorities? First we have to take on TRH and housequake and youtube just for prince, THEN we will hit the dark web... WTF?)

• We were just being cool in the internet generation: without blank tapes or pastage stamps moving toward the future. Maybe I'll post the business plan he needs immediately, maybe I won't, BUT if there is a place for fams like us and after these years somehow I don't know it, if tix really cost $500, if he won't let anything stay on youtube except for some reason ONE SPECIFIC NYC concert I happened to be at...whcih is bizarre but I'll even take the crap audience film as a momento as I can see the back of my head in many shots down by the stage...

• If we cannot or won't or just have nothing to discuss at all, except prince is a PIA and a FLAKE, where is the aftershow or is there one (PS I found an after show once they told me he only started playing 30 mins ago. I had to be on twitter for 3 hours psychotically tring to find ANYTHING and if so WHERE, they charged another $200 x 2, I got in, he played one more after endorphinemachine and END. I got a pic of me and Renato...Love to Renato but seriously.

• If there is no hub for fams to actually communicate and enjoy this genius like TRH, Housequake, NPGMC (I know some people get down on it but I had it at the RIGHT moment... and a tambourine.), the fun is gone. The only time people post when I had no plan on writing this much or any of this is because we do not have that special place where the real fams are. (Or at least we do and no one decided to tell me). No perks. Prince is overpricing himself to prices over like Paul McCartney Overpriced (but I will pay every time, it's Paul..), but the next night 100 miles away oh Prince decides every ticket is $17 after I just saw him at MSG for 300 the day before.

• Stop jerking around the fans you have left, Prince. You can alwys sell out an arena but do you want your fans to feel contempt over the price and lack of any consistancy in any area of your life... except you are fucking inconsistant. Or do you want to feel like they are your fams. You hit 2000 with an ACTUAL Hit n Run Tour (where you played a bunch of gigs, in a row, and info was easy to find, use an exponent for 2004 Musicology), NPGMC if you went to a show in 2002 perfectly, and then Musicology. COME ON. What you are doing now is probably a more literal definition of HIT n RUUUUN. Why?

• And I cannot believe i am mentioning KISS again but I remember they did a "groundbreaking" tour where they recorded the show and there was an area outside where they were burning CDs of the show you just were at for $30 a pop: steep but you were just there. Its a momento and great business. When I think of marketing I always look to KISS because Gene is brilliant but cracks me up. KISS Kasket. You'll be burried in it but it's air tight so while you are on this earth IT DOUBLES AS A COOLER, you know while you are Alive. Coincidentally the names of their live albums.

• Prince couldn't even release his CD set of Samples. SAMPLES HE USES. After receiveing peorders too.

• I'm not going to hit Crystal Ball, at least it made it to the light side of the force... eventually.

• But marketing and getting on track IMMEDIATELY is another topic. If there really is no place where real fams can go and revel in the past, have hope for the future, tell stories, hear what prince really sounds like... I already don't believe you. And you need to email me. I cannot imagine a world without. If there really truly issomewhere with a modicum of the good times rolling around still that would be a joyous thing to know even if I personally never know exactly how to get there. If there is nothing, I am in the US so I won't touch it I.. don't think, even with my computer programming, database, and internet skills, but SOMEONE on this this planet earth I hope has done something similar. As a real Prince fam, I can't understand if they have the skills and they are a real prnce fam too, there isn't a place where the digital garden grows.

• And I really only came here to say hi and I am so not not joking, but the reality is, Prince has boxed us into a place where most of us that really used to feel like fams, and are now just fans to mooch off of and piss off for absolutely no reason. We are like the worst puppy dogs. scorn us as much as you like, and all it takes is a funky pupperoni or two and we are lapdogs. That's the worst part because PRINCE knows this.

At the end of my post I said if there are really any horrific typos let me know.

Anyhow, everything I said barring the TRH and old website suff, is happening now and he is doing it (some of the early bad examples are reminders). I mentioned examples of when he was doing it right as well. Then ended on what he has been doing in more recent times. It's not good. And some he has done before and should have learned his lessons. Also, especially when the good stuff is juxtaposed with what he is doing now, even without the juxtaposition, it... OK:

• POINT: I didn't think I needed to spell out the stuff he really should be doing. There is juxtaposition of better days, juxtaposition of things he already did that lessons should have been learned and not repeated this many years later, and I shouldn't have even HAD to juxtapose a thing... if I only talked about the last few years and nothing else, it should still be severely obvious that the point is Prince: Whatever you are doing do the opposite. I only added nostalgia to aid you to THAT conclusion, which perhaps it's just me, is very obvious anyway but I went down memory lane. Sue me.

I have no quarrel with Prince's musical output. Either I like something or I don't regardless of what year it is. I am not one of those who subscribes to the myth of the "golden era". As far as his career/business decisions and whether or not he gains any fans, that's his problem, not mine. I have my own career.

What you were trying to say with that wall of words has been clarified now, but you seem to think you're making some original, interesting and different points but you're not. This is territory that has been covered over and over and over and over and over and over and over again.

I don't know how often you visit but what you're saying gets said here several times a week, every single week of the year and people got fatigued over the exact same thing being said a hundred different ways, ad nauseum.

I don't like the term "fams", and while I know Prince is the one who started using it to talk about his fans because supposedly he doesn't like the term "fanatics", you're one of the few that use it with a straight face (presumably). Those that use it to denigrate take advantage of the fact it sounds like "femz" (or "effeminate"). For them, it became a sly way to not-so-subtly insult those that still like his new music by implying they are girly "sissies".

I realize that is not how you use the term but it was ridiculous to begin with and can be use to ridicule. Plus the initial notion that fans are "family" is at odd with his lack of accessibility as a ultra-guarded performer.

No I'm sorry but after reading the OP I didn't have a clue what u were talking about. I've hardly ever read such an incoherant post. You're talking about everything and nothing, it's entirely cryptic and I don't come here to decypher coded messages. No offense. Now from what came after that piece of coded ranting, the replies and your own replies to them, I assume it was just another "Prince is over and done and his business strategy sucks" thread. I am actually touched that people here have taken the opportunity to reach out and respond to the OP. I started reading this post a bit yesterday--when it had not been commented on--and maybe about a quarter in could not continue. It was just too hard to comprehend. Editing is recommended, indeed! I feel people's responses seem to counteract the OP claims, somewhat, about the loss of community on the Org.
