Michael Jackson & Prince article

Shocker! - two big rivals were competitive!

http://www.dailymail.co.uk/news/article-3425978/That-Michael-Jackson-one-shrewd-man-Producer-L-Reid-s-new-memoir-reveals-King-Pop-loved-watch-videos-rival-Prince-messing-up.html

"Nearing the end of the tour, they brought to a screening room where they were showed footage of a 1983 James Brown concert where Michael Jackson was called on stage as a guest.

Jackson obliged the request from Brown and took to the stage where he 'danced a few steps' before telling Brown that Prince was also in the crowd.

Brown then proceeded to call Prince on stage as well, but Michael Jackson was reportedly happy that his appearance didn't go great.

'Prince [couldn't] make his guitar work, frantically stripping off his shirt and trying tricks with the microphone stand and making all these poses,' Reid explains in the book according to the Post.

'After Michael's dazzling star turn, Prince fell as flat as he could, and Michael enjoyed laughing at the video.'

But Michael Jackson was not done making fun of Prince. After that moment, Jackson reportedly started playing a scene from Prince's movie, Under The Cherry Moon, to laugh even more at his rival."

The James Brown video is real!

It is funny though. Prince is high as a motherfucker in that clip. Also, sounds like Jacko was being kind, he coulda been doing scenes from graffiti bridge! It's just around the corner. Jacko was a very troubled soul. I think u leave it at that.

You need to speak for yourself and it time for MJ idiots to realize what a asshat MJ was and to acknowledge this fool killed himself trying to prepare for 50 shows at O2 Arena to beat Prince's record but in the end MJ drug addict ass is dead and Prince is alive and well so who came out better in the end.

No, they can speak for me on this point, too.

Prince's current music is utter rubbish. In terms of musical legacy, Michael Jackson will have the more lasting, richer one, because he won't continue to dilute it with substandard crap.

I think it's perfectly possible to be a fan of MJ's music and and to realize that the man needed professional help. The same with Prince, really.

From our vantage point we can say that Prince is more stable, but he and MJ were/are both surrounded by Yes-men. This is what killed MJ and it won't do Prince much good either.

-- That is just it that is your opinion I love AOA and Phrase II and he got good reviews for both CDs and a Top Twenty song out of one of the Cds. Just did an acoustic show that people are raving about and is probaly going to take this show to Europe and clean up. Some of you act like a almost Sixty something dude is some 19 year old dying for pop hit and trying to be relevant as you can hear his relevance in music today. Slagging an artist because you expect him to not ever dail it down, change his music, or the music is not the style you like is ridiculous and you can't get the music for free is just silly.

-/ Last time I looked Prince is alive and well and actually interacting with adults and still working and he never put himself out to the public as some angel I probaly would have less of problem with Mike's wretchedness if he did not spend his whole life pretending to be some saint and looking down his nose at someone that was a million times more creative.

Too bad Justin Bieber recalls MJ as an icon, popstar, best male artist, his pick as an innovator.

And Prince as "Yeah, he's good.....ummmm......"

He's popular among the charts. And around the women.

It's funny. Whenever I stop by the MJ forums, they have the upmost respect for Prince (many of them are also fans). This forum, however, resorts to the same tired jokes and ridicule on MJ. It's intersting....

--- No one in his entourage has ever said anything about Prince using Coke. In fact they all say he was against drug taking. I always thought he was out watching the show and was knocking back a few drinks and just was not prepared to be on the stage. Anybody with a lick of sense can see this Mike being jealous and stupid.

Haven't you seen? Everone has gone on about how they now are "beliebers" because of his latest record. I've only heard one good song from that album. But the singles are topping the charts. That matters today. Too bad D'Angelo got royally snubbed on every award show. That guy I do respect. And he appreciates Prince on a whole other level.

Just goes to show - both are human....and have all the same foibles as everyone else - no matter how much both P & Jacko try to make there status that of deity.

I do laugh at whoever throws Prince's glove back - that was comical.
