Just to clear something up - someone at Paisley Park (I think probably Trevor and/or Meron) is handling this by offering wholesale prices to fans in different areas.
So you've got Sam from TheDigitalGardens handling Minnesota and pretty much anywhere through her site. You've got Dorothy who is based in Seattle who is handling a bunch of them via FB groups. I know of another fan in Holland who is handling Europe (so if you don't wanna pay a large shipping charge then it's probably best to go through her). And chances are there's gonna be more.
I think the point is that most active Prince fans will know at least one of these people, and be happy to order via their friends.

This isn't as straight forward as this seems. For example you have to consider who you are trading with? When there is a problem who do you claim against? And how is the 'fan' paying the applicable taxes? They will need to be trading as registered companies and pay the tax they owe - they will need to file tax returns in their countries. Also is the fan 'PCI' compliant - I bet not! It will be interesting to see what the Tax man thinks about the import duty when buying wholesale from the USA!
Personally, I wouldn't get involved.
Prince can set up his own Shopify or Magento account and sell his own CD and pop it into an envelope!!!

To be a P fan and collector is like to be SuperMario in "Donkey Kong" videogame.
Every level is more difficult than the level before.

Indeed, it's more like an experiment or a game to see how his fans react - to keep them running around like crazy oir angry little ants - rather than a genuine attempt to release an album. Not very respectful ... |

And, of course, irrespective of whether the seller is making a profit or not, there is a contract between the purchaser and seller, and consumer rights that will relate to the transaction.

That is very true indeed!
Also, many people won't realise that you will LOSE those consumer rights if you pay with PayPal!
Never use PayPal to pay for anything - always use your credit card.
Don't be fooled by your credit card being linked to your PayPal account. It doesn't work like that! When you use PayPal your legal transaction is with PayPal and not with your credit card company.
So, avoid PayPal whenever you can!!!!!

I have to agree now, In September my record store bought 6 copies of the Phase 1 CD, I bought one copy, the other 5 are still in the store unsold and all are at $23.95 (Which is expensive).
.
Will probably go to digital gardens as I am in their Famjams now! (#7) Got some kind of love for you, and I don't even know your name |

This is the most pathetic thing I have ever seen from Prince. How many cases of cd's does he have up at Paisley to get rid of anyway? I know from coming across some of them over the years, that some of those FAN resellers aren't the most, um, business-savy people in the world. They can't protect themselves and ain't no way in hell they can handle the business side of distributing cd's, without taking an L for Prince one way or the other. IDK, I guess Prince needs light bill money or something. 'Go on Prince, you big ole pimp... I mean Lil' ole Pimp'.
They over at Warner falling on the floor though laughing at this shit I bet. 'Tell us again how you don't like the promotion for AOA and you won't turn over the Purple Rain outtakes'. |

I'm sure WB would have been more willing to release new albums by Prince if he had done his part of the deal and give them the outtakes so they could have released PR remaster in 2014, but Prince gave them the finger and started to bitch about WB once again. In return they now reject every new album Welcome 2 The Dawn |

One thing for sure is that these 'fans' are not very good at marketing as no one knows who they are or their urls. (Apart from TDG).
.
If these 'fan's want to be shifting serious units they need to start some promotional campaigns!

I can imagine that they are still in a setup phase and that the other one was a bit to early with going semi-live and disclosing this info. |

Exactly.
To the people that asked - I'm not going to say who the person is before they have a chance to say themselves.
All I know is that they were at Paisley Park last week and they have arranged something there to get a bunch of HNR2 CD's over to Europe. But as it stands I believe they have only mentioned it in private at this point.
All will be revealed shortly, I presume.

I am so bored of the discussion of how we can get out hands on Prince albums and WB. It's so boring to me.
You really have to sort your shit out, Prince. An artist of your stature should NOT be putting your fans or anyone else through hoops just to get your music when it comes. |

Cool man thanks for the info - understand not being able to say who and what before its all sorted. Just can't wait to get it ordered. Still a little cautious about giving CC details to a fan but maybe they're setting summat up legit that'll reassure us. At least we aren't going to be digging holes around the Pennines for a Golden Hare. Unless you pay to get coordinates of where your CD will be buried. Comin str8 outta Preston... |

Does ANY other artist release as much muziq as does? Hell no! Which is why he has run out of options. What record label is going to keep releasing new muziq by the same artist every few weeks or months NONE! So deal with it or go follow another boring artist..
He doesn't need a record company. He can manufacture the cd's himself, as he has done now, and let Amazon distribute it worldwide.

Are you living under a rock? Of course there are other artists who are releasing lots of music. Just open your eyes, look around and you will see. You don't have to like their music, but to dismiss other creative forces is ignorant. There are lots of very creative people outside prince-world. |

Yes, it's a double damn shame and quite pathetic. And does so much to combat bootlegging and illegal downloads. Which is tempting so I can avoid paying for some of these songs 4 times by the time I get the CD! Comin str8 outta Preston... |
