It's not. HnR1 costs € 19 or something in most Dutch stores or webshops excluding shipping.. (saw one exception for € 13). So HnR2 for € 17,70 is cheaper even when it comes from the US.

....really? I tend to buy vinyl but I'd say it was pretty rare for me to pay more than £10 in the UK for a new release CD.

Casual fans want to buy their CD's in regular stores or online at amazon. I think most casual fans don't know about the existence of Phase Two, because they don't see it on amazon.

It's definitely never been done before but I think it's not a strategy that does the album justice. I really really like Phase Two. I think with the right promotion it could have been Prince's biggest selling album in years. There's at least 3 songs that could have been top 10 singles. But releasing it like this means very few people even know it exists, and fewer still are willing to buy it. I love how you always see the positives in Prince’s actions but he's doing himself a disservice with this strategy and his fans that are willing to buy the CD this way are paying more than they should have to. Its a lose lose situation.

I ordered mine from Electric Fetus on Jan 29. It arrived yesterday, 2/12, with three giant cracks in the case. I haven't opened it and am asking for a refund. $18 is a premium for a CD which I was OK paying, but not for a damaged one.

I agree but many of us want Prince's music to get greater promotion/recognition.

99% of the planet doesn't even know HnR P2 is available.

It's not in stores or youtube

If the disc and artwork are OK you can simply replace the jewel case and quit whining.

This exactly is the reason why them paper CD boxes are bad.

What you say makes a lot of sense. I'm still waiting on my CD from a 1/27 order.
