Hi. This involves Prince, music output, business, tours, things that worked in the past, a possible segway to future business which I read a few threads about which is what got me going, but I mention no absurdities but there are direct negative and positive contrasts. It's not a hit job. I am a fam who wants to see him succeed and have a community that doesn't do exactly what you just did by posting that link. There is so much worse on here I felt the conversation should be somewhat clarified, unless you have a WB and TIDAL contract to show me and then I'm down for getting crazy and finding a zoftig-like variety of interpretations. Otherwise I hope for the best, a community like we used to have, not just an MB or BT, and just throwing a link to stupid post, and paisley4, you too, come on we've been here since 2002. and there is a lot more than what I said that needs to be said, but you of all know exactly what I meant by my post. I'm with ya man, as much as it breaks my heart and soul, it's just embarassing. And not the good Prince embarassing. He's losing it. He isn't gaining fans. He's losing them. Old-timers such as myself, just don't wanna play anymore. Next.

At the end of my post I said if there are really any horrific typos let me know.
Anyhow, everything I said barring the TRH and old website suff, is happening now and he is doing it (some of the early bad examples are reminders). I mentioned examples of when he was doing it right as well. Then ended on what he has been doing in more recent times. It's not good. And some he has done before and should have learned his lessons. Also, especially when the good stuff is juxtaposed with what he is doing now, even without the juxtaposition, it... OK:

See but you do agree with my points. He isn't gaining fans, and he isn't playing ball. At all. That said this is the opposite of a Prince is over post, this is more like a hopeful post that Prince will get his head out of his ass, do what he's gotta do and he is very capable, and that we had the community we used to have.
It's all doable. It's just not getting done. Starrfighter

That makes it worse. I'm mainly commenting on business and fans or fams as we used to be. My golden era is 2000ish through 3121. And then I have the I was a baby golden era of the 80's which is most people's golden era.
I am absolutely referring to whatever it is he has going on. Only he knows.
I was going to make a hey I haven't visited awhile post but I started thinking about year over year when it looked like he was screwing up and built to awesome. But only he knew. I pray for that.
I am with you if the music is good I'm always happy. No tour, not so happy. No promo more drama not so happy, and I just don't see how he could be either. AND he's not stupid at all. So what I set out to write just ended up with y mind being blown.
The music is good. No one is listening. A change would do him good. And it doesn't have to be the music. He was a freaking pioneer on the internet. And now look. There's just so happy amazing things that ran through my head, and then I went oh but then he did THAT or THIS right after. I don't get it. My post is totally not a diss, it's really just get it together.
to anyone who says he's done, even here when I go out and I say "but my favorite is prince" and someone gives me THAT look, if you dont thing my phone is on the ready to school them... Instead of why should I do THIS when I can do THAT: maybe he should do THIS for once. I am the opposite of a hater. Holy crap. Starrfighter

I don't like the term "fams", and while I know Prince is the one who started using it to talk about his fans because supposedly he doesn't like the term "fanatics", you're one of the few that use it with a straight face (presumably). Those that use it to denigrate take advantage of the fact it sounds like "femz" (or "effeminate"). For them, it became a sly way to not-so-subtly insult those that still like his new music by implying they are girly "sissies".
I realize that is not how you use the term but it was ridiculous to begin with and can be use to ridicule. Plus the initial notion that fans are "family" is at odd with his lack of accessibility as a ultra-guarded performer.

No I'm sorry but after reading the OP I didn't have a clue what u were talking about. I've hardly ever read such an incoherant post. You're talking about everything and nothing, it's entirely cryptic and I don't come here to decypher coded messages. No offense. Now from what came after that piece of coded ranting, the replies and your own replies to them, I assume it was just another "Prince is over and done and his business strategy sucks" thread. We've had that at least once a week for the last 3 years and now that finally a mod has decided it was just visual pollution and that it belongs to a sticky, I'm certainly not gonna encourage people to start that nonsense again. Nothing personal, just hoping to prevent this board to sink into mediocrity. Thank you. Goodbye. Let me know when you publish the Reader's Digest condensed version. I ain't reading all that. We don’t mourn artists because we knew them. We mourn them because they helped us know ourselves.

Yes I accidntally hit purple and said fuck it, I'll just keep that. Apparently, one of the major points about using the word fams vs fans to show that we need community like we had during earlier days. This board and the negativity against each other is.... bad. I started clicking all around and everyone gets trashed in every post. It did NOT used to be this way all that much, not like this anyway, or in other internet locations I spoke about, which by the way I think thinly veiled instead of cryptic would be more acurate and there are reasons. It's 10 to 15 years later. So I could see some on the board not undrstanding completely what I am saying. But wow orgers, have you had your plus sign today? Oh well. Starrfighter

There is nothing as good as TRH. Man, I spent all day in that place. Good times.
Also, you know Idina? That's awesome. |

I am actually touched that people here have taken the opportunity to reach out and respond to the OP. I started reading this post a bit yesterday--when it had not been commented on--and maybe about a quarter in could not continue. It was just too hard to comprehend. Editing is recommended, indeed! I feel people's responses seem to counteract the OP claims, somewhat, about the loss of community on the Org.
