Ruff Enuff is an unreleased song recorded on 6 January, 2016 at Paisley Park Studios, Chanhassen, MN, USA. Prince's Twitter account announced the track in the early morning of 7 January:

"JUST CUT A THE JAZZ SINGLE "RUFF ENUFF" WITH KAJ ON DRUMS, ADRIAN ON TALKINGSAXBOX & MONO NEON ON BASS! ONLY NEED A LIL' DONNA MESS &: $$$!"

It is believed, therefore, that a further session is planned for guitar overdubs by Donna Grantis. In response to a fan asking when they could hear the track, @Prince3EG replied

"HOPEFULLY, THIS WEEKEND"

Another fan asked if this was the first track to be recorded in 2016, to which @Prince3EG replied

"YES, IT'S ALREADY GOT A SISTER: ON THE SAME ALBUM AS "FREE URSELF"...THEY SOUND GREAT 2GETHER!"

It has been speculated that Free Urself is the title of an album that would contain the title track and Ruff Enuff, but this has not been confirmed.

The song is not thought to be connected to the outtake Rough, which was worked on a number of times between 1980 and 1986.

I think you're mis-reading that - he's saying after Donna adds her parts the song will be money.

Also - this song was played at Paisley back in October. Seem strange that he'd wait until now to record it, doesnt it?

Can't seem to find it now - but there were reports from the October 24 show mentioning a new song with the line "are you rough enough". Prince also tweeted a review of the night using the phrase: https://twitter.com/Princ...12?lang=en

I seem to recall it being described as a rocker with the "classic sound".

It really only suggests that there's an album featuring both songs, not that the album features songs spanning 2011-now, or that it's part of a possible HNR series.
