STOP THE MADNESS!!!! Let's discuss what Prince has been doing for the last 2 weeks...
I think he might *actually* be losing his mind....
Like... is he okay? I'm start to fear for his mental wellbeing. Who is talking to him? Tell them to STOP.
He was on Twitter last night espousing this terrible idea to distribute HitnRun Phase II - through the fans. This is obviously gonna lead to all that stuff he hates (piracy, no revenue, unlicensed use, etc...) and what's worse is that he won't be able to do anything about it when he changes his mind if he just hands a bunch of copies over to people to put in their garages and sell in back alleys in the night. Fans are literally the WORST possible group of people to trust with your money, Prince!!! There's a better way to do it business-wise if Tidal won't help him distribute. ONE of the better ways would be to invest and build up Tidal by introducing a new platform for fans (of any artist) to trade/sell/buy merchandise to each other in a kind of social media auction or so and put a limited number of HitnRun Phase II CDs in the market! Because such a thing would be centralized and through Tidal (artist owned), it'd be easier for artists (read: PRINCE) to regulate what is in the market! That's just ONE way to fix it!
Now, let's talk about how "some" artists have been posting "some" craziness IN GENERAL as of late. Why is he being so mean!?! Guy asks for re-masters and Prince is like forget about it basically. Prince asks for ideas on how to distribute, and he's like "YOU DO IT!" Like, how?!? I mean, not every is like me and just come up with business plans to solve industry probs and MORE IMPORTANTLY - NOT EVERYONE HAS THE MONEY AND TIME TO START YOUR WEBSITE FOR YOU! They were like - "put it in Walmart" - he was like - "NO. THEY SELL GUNS". I'm like "what does that have to do with anything!?!?! STOP PLAYING! Do you want some rev or not?!?!" Last week, he posted this basic af videos with weird kids "dancing" and I'm like "why?" They look like advertisements for the YMCA!!! Then, his posters for his Gala - why do they look like that? They look like they were made in Microsoft word!!! I FEEL LIKE HE'S NOT EVEN TRYING!!! BUT, AT THE SAME TIME HE'S TRYING TOO HARD IN ALL THE WRONG WAYS!!! I'm about to start thinking he's in some sort of crisis right now, like, he's panicing over something with his music and we just don't know what. And, look at the guy!!! Doesn't he look just a tad too skinny? Is he healthy? Is he okay mentally and physically!?! I'm worried!
Then, there's a way to fix/revive his whole entire public image just in time for him to release his re-masters (if he actually want to do that) and bring in more money than he has in 20 years, probably. But, I don't know why nobody has suggested it to him!!! HE NEEDS AN ANIMATED MOVIE (with excellent marketing/advertising) ABOUT HIS CAREER - it would bring his legacy and music to the new generation and it'd be the perfect climate for some HIGH SELLING VAULT RELEASES and REMASTERS!!! He'd sell more than he ever did!!! He'd be richer than ever!!! HE'D BRING TIDAL SUBSCRIBERS LIKE NEVER BEFORE!!! HE'D BE HELPING AN ARTIST-RUN BUSINESS GAIN SOME MORE TRACTION!!! GREAT MARKETING AND LEGACY RESURRECTION!!!

No offense but seriously asking Prince to stop his madness on Twitter by adding more madness on the Org isn't gonna help... The OP, in my humble opinion, is correct. Hi, my name is nayroo. i've been a fan since 1982. 'HitNRun:Phase2' is the first release i pirated cuz there are no real alternatives to streaming and/or credit cards. i will naturally purchase a CD or Amazon(no cc needed)download. one entry on his very own tweeter page suggested bringing back the NPGMC and his response was a " then he backed that one with an entry from another fan saying he likes the streaming service where he currently resides. it's all business. no music, anymore. Half Prost.
