???? your trolling is epic, comparing U2 song from 1980 to Prince song 2007 I will play the ferrari When u were Mine. You could of said most Prince songs from the 80's are a ferrari, but know you pick one from 2007. [Edited 12/29/15 14:25pm]

Prince certainly speaks out on issues, he also does plenty without self promoting himself in the process. Things we only hear about when the people who got the money say something about it. There are enough cases that we do know about for prince that it's rediculous to criticise him.
The big difference between Prince and U2 is Prince covers many different genres of music while you could take pretty much any song off of any U2 album and move it to any other U2 album and it would pretty much be as in place on the one you moved it to as the one you moved it from. You can'tdo that with a single song with Prince albums recorded as closely together as Purple Rain and Sign O the Times.

Those who find U2 boring is because you like fun party music almost exclusively. U2 is not for you. If all you like is fun party music and can't stand anything else screams lack of musical sophistication on your part.
And that may be why a lot of you here who love all of his newer cheesy stuff get so bent out of shape when anyone criticizes it. Classic childish tastes will never like anything but childish music. That's why some here love AOA so much. [Edited 12/29/15 18:05pm]

that's just rediculous. Prince does far, far more than "fun party music".
Any U2 song on any U2 album would fit equally well on any other U2 album. Prince's music can't be categorized because he does Funk/Jazz/R&B/Soul/Pop/Rock and more. I wouldn't be as big of a fan of Prince had his career paralleled U2. One album every 4 or 5 years, each with basically the same sound as Purple Rain. Instead we get the massive range of albums like Dirty Mind, Purple Rain, Sign O the Times, The Truth, One Nite Alone, Rainbow Children. That's 5 albums, each brilliant in it's own right, none like the other. Any pair of albums has more variety than U2s entire career.

I judge Bono by his actions , his words, and his facial expressions when recieving awards for such humanitarain efforts compare them to Jimmy Carter, you will see. I don't hate Bono, I'm rather indifferent. I am disappointed in his live stage performance as a whole though. Prince may not try as hard in his current live performances, but they are still better than Bono's act. 99.9% of everything I say is strictly for my own entertainment

The only thing I will say on this topic is....
I was disappointed with Prince's comments about U2 and the 1988 Grammys ("I don't go to award shows anymore, because you'll be sitting there and someone like U2 will beat you").He was pissed because U2 won the 'Album of The Year' award.Prince believes that he should have won that award for 'SOTT'.
That's not a good attitude.Prince should be supporting his peers, instead of going to an award show with a massive ego, expecting to win something.During U2's acceptance speech, they said something really good about Prince. They showed their admiration and respect for him. It's a shame that he didn't do the same for them.

to add, I find U2 boring because it's so repetitive. I like individual songs, but I don't feel compelled to buy their albums. I got their last album free thanks to Apple, listened to it a few times and haven't feeled compelled to listen since. It reminds me a bit of Boston. They released their self titled Boston in 1976 and I loved their sound. They released the followup album 2 years later. Even as a fan I had trouble keeping track of what song was on what album and sometimes which song was witch and there were only 2 albums. They took an 8 year break and came back with Third State in 96. I really looked forward to it, but when I listeed to it I thought "why bother".
Prince, on the other hand, does such a wide range that it soemtimes takes a while to know it's him. He released 2 madhouse albums before WB put an end to it. He releassed Gett Off to the radio with no artist listed, they didn't know it was him. When Doves Cry sounds nothing like anythign he did before that. Kiss sounds nothing like anything he did before that. Same thign for Sign O the Times, Housequake, the Cross, Joy In Repeition, Gett Off that I already mentioned. The list goes on and on.

"I can play any song on the The Joshua Tree but can they play "Housequake?" - Prince Nope. We see the same folks call more serious prince music boring. Prince is far more than silly cheesy music of course, but many here that's all they like. Everything else they say is boring.

That you for providing yet another example of Prince the person. He's an asshole. What makes matters worse, his music is complete and utter shit now....which is why Prince's new albums sell like shit.

I don't think you can call "forcing your crap album on millions of Apple users" to be the same thing as "selling well".

Yes please answer Scarfo? Maybe to just troll. At least some trolls still like some of his music if not the person , you like either. I don't like Madonna since 1990 but don't go on a Madonna forum and shit on everything she has done since 1990. [Edited 12/30/15 12:19pm]

Just because it's fun. I have plenty of love for the classic 80's music. I have plenty of admiration for the stage craft and talent displayed during the 80's. I completely loathe Prince now as an musician and as a person. It's basically my love for his classic work that keeps me around. (besides many of ya'll would miss me if I left) Thank you for asking. ^_^ #SeriousAnswer

Maybe it's just me, but I would say spending your time posting on a forum dedicated to someone whom you neither like as a person, nor like their art.... says a lot more about you than it does about Prince. |

Well I can honestly say I don't give two shits how you or anyone else view me, or my opinion on matters. I just state what I feel, and shall continue to do as such. You can either except it or reject it. I don't give two shits either way.

I appreciate what these guys can do when they want to, they can make anything rock and get a crowd fever pitched, you go try singing the same songs over and over again year after year and see how bored you get and try to make them worth singing every single day every single night every single year. I'm sure it gets old at times. Trying to top things all the time having to try and please your fans knowing they'll rake you over the coals if it sucks, haven't you ever heard Pat Benatar talk about how bored she is with her shit. I cant imagine. [Edited 12/30/15 17:53pm]

I wasn't aware that my little-widdle opinions is so damaging to so many "adults" here. Look, ya'll don't have to agree with them (don't righteously care if ya did or didn't) but all this bellyaching isn't gonna stop me from expressing myself one iota. In fact, many of ya'll comments here make me cringe, but you don't see me bellyaching every two minutes about it. No. The fact of the matter I know everyone has their opinions, so I just leave it at that. Funny how it seems so many of ya'll haven't mastered that ability yet. lol, I mean it's funny reading so many 2 cent perspectives about me from ya'll, when I didn't ask for them, or even care tp recieve them. To each it's own. If it makes you feel better, then go ahead...have at it. This shall serve as my final reply to this tedious subject. But make no mistake, I shall continue to be critical of The Artist currently known as Meh, when I see him doing asshole things. [Edited 12/31/15 5:51am]
