Yep. You have your mint condition vinyls, good for you.

But there's no way you'll get the dynamics and details of the analog version on CD, by tweaking volume and EQs only. Prince's CDs are garbage, one half is flat and colourless, and the other is "Loudness Wars 2 da maximom".

"Blood On The Tracks" on CD sounds great, so there's no way a good specialist can't retrieve the original kick pump and the original volume of the Hammond on Housequake, or the 3-D mix that Adore has, the spread of it, which is nowhere to be heard on CD.

after re-negotiating with WB over his masters?

warners released 2 new albums for him, and sent out a press release for a

PR remaster and other projects to come.

why did the remaster project go off the rails again? didn't anybody sit down
and actually talk percentages this time round, since that's all prince seems
to care about when it comes down to it?

it seems totally insane that after renegotiations there is disagreement of at
least friction once again.

oh heck, prince was already badmouthing WB a few weeks before AOA was
released.

Mine too. If the catalog gets remastered by todays standards it won't sound good.

Comparing the Led Zeppelin remasters from the early 90s with the ones they released this year, the earlier ones sound much better. The standard today includes cranking the levels past the point of distortion. Ouch!

All I'm interested in is a nice collection of extras and it doesn't sound like Prince wants to give us that so, whatever...

Welcome to the concept of a forum. I'd assume you're new here but every one of your posts gives me a sense of Deja Vu.

Those tweets confirm what i've been sayin' for more than a year: we won't see the shadow of a remaster or archive program as long as WB has an exclusive deal.

So sick of "celebs" and their egos.

makes me wonder, in his latest interview where he says that he's contemplating a(nother) greatest hits album..maybe this is a backhanded threat to WBs...if they won't give him what he thinks he's owed he'll just released remasters under a 'greatest hits' style release... who knows...

the only thing we know is that Prince re-signed with WBs of his own free will...nobody put a gun to his head...I mean he was going to get the masters back in the next year or so anyway so if he loses out this time it really is his fault and he can't blame Warners for any of it...even if they're trying to screw him, he signed up for it and should have made sure he couldn't be 'done' again.... surely he did his homework this time.....or did he hire monkeys to do a man's job (again)...

OR ....is he screwing with them and just being plain greedy?

Since Prince is gonna be Prince and that means what its always meant it probably is gonna be awhile but in the meantime since I do love music overall and listen to tons of other artists. Can anyone on here list some other well known, talented musical artists that while we've been waiting on P to put his stuff out already has done their re-issues that are well done and well reviewed and worth buying?

I think someone brought it up earlier in this very thread. Can you please list some worth checking out?

I know The Beatles stuff has been done and re released in various forms over and over again and also maybe Led Zeppelin. Any others?

So until you have the CD in your sweaty palms you must not worry: you will not get the remasters and anything else is a positive thing.
