While I'm glad this is finally on an album, I'm annoyed that the album uses the exact file as the download. Which mean - we still don't have a lossless version of this track. Always cry 4 love, never cry 4 pain.

Have always loved this one and it is one of the standout tracks that lifts phase 2 over phase 1.

One of Prince's best songs in recent years - it deserved more exposure. Groovy indeed.

So glad this cool song finally has a home! Love how it builds and builds and is such a cool jam! The greatest live performer of our times was is and always will be Prince.
Remember there is only one destination and that place is U All of it. Everything. Is U.

Bizarre how a song this good comes out of nowhere, amongst a sea of mediocre tracks.
This is as good as Prince has ever been at what he does.

Can't stop singing it, it's been on repeat all day

Sure is! | |

I wish I had never heard this song before it was released as part of an album - it's a great track, but having listened to it probably hundreds of times in the last few years (I like it that much) has undermined the impact of the album itself. Same applies to Xtraloveable (the original is still the best, but this versión kicks ass too).

I'm confused - the original download from 3rdEyeTunes is a WAV, and there's a FLAC version available for sale at Tidal.

What a fantastic song! One of the best Prince songs of all time. Yes, I said it. In fact I think it's one of the best songs in the soul/funk genre ever. The wooh is on the one!

This song is so good it deserves a place on an album. One of my favorite Prince songs ever.

Both are not lossless. Always cry 4 love, never cry 4 pain.

This thing is bloated beyond belief and lacks melody. None of the parts fit together well. Everytime he says 'groovy potential' it's nails on the chalkboard, expecially when they add the underwater effect to everything. In fact I'm not sure there is anything here except the words 'groovy potential' and endless overdubs.

Both are not lossless. How's that again? What format are you looking for?
- E-mail - orgNote - Report post to moderator |
The format is irrelevant. On both files, the download and album, the frequency range cuts off at 16khz. Thus, indicating an original lossy source. [Edited 12/16/15 19:08pm] Always cry 4 love, never cry 4 pain.

FINALLY... Prince 4Ever.

Never understood why this wasn't on 'Art Official Age' but it's great to have finally found an official release.

If Prince allowed this to be on YouTube it would get millions of views.

I feel similarly. It BEEN a fave of mine. This jem was dropped outta nowhere. I've abused it. Black muse was a stand out what the album hit for me, but only cuz I had abused this so. However long into the release...this is now defiantly my fave on the record. Amazing track. The lyrics aren't groundbreaking at all....but the music is SO dynamic. Up and down and in and out...the pent up ohhs in the vox...the fx's...the basswork is awesome without being audacious.... Prince in all the ways that makes Prince, Prince.
