I was trying to figure out what song this reminded me of... the verse pattern, the melody of it... and then it came to me: "(You Gotta) Fight for Your Right (to Party!)"

Great song, I first heard it back in January 2013 (PA recording) and also a few live versions, it definitely sounds better live but I really enjoy the studio version. I also hope we someday get to hear the re-recording he made with 3EG smile

It is ok, but as many tracks on HNR 2 it lacks bite. It is just song. Maybe it will grow on me.

His vocal reminds me of Bowie.

Cute song. Definitely inspired by Andy Allo. Love her laugh at the end of the song!

I saw the guitar driven version in SF w/ 3EG & it slayed. Ruined me for this version but I still like it.

Are you kidding? It's the chorus of the song.

Huh? It sounds more like that Boyfriend song from a few years back. I don't hear anything rock about this song at all.

The lyrics are absolutely cringe-worthy. This will be a permanent "skip."

There's some live boots with it on. Don't know if 3rdEye ever recorded it as a studio version but if they did I'd love to hear it. The live versions wipe the floor with the Phase II version, in my opinion.

RIP sad

(I had to find it.) Boyfriend reminds me of Nasty Girl, not this.

Hmm, interesting. Still not feeling the connection to those other two songs. Maybe I need to hear the rock version.

Don't like anything about it.

Wish it was a cover and that Prince didn't actually write these lyrics...

Hopefully there will be a maxi-single with every tricked — guitar / a capella / rapped-out version he can pack on; with a HORNZ version of Screwdriver for good measure.

I agree that it's pretty lyrically dumb (especially the bit about Idol and X-Factor), but the things happening rhythmically are just irresistable.
