It IS rather interesting that there are the five portraits from different eras. It occurs to me, if Databank's assesment over the rights issues is correct, then rerecording vault tracks may be what he plans to do with this series. Since most of the tracks on Phase 2 were culled from around 2011-2013, but were new mixes or recordings, is it possible he is thinking of applying the whole rerecording technique here? I'd rather see him go that route than the original idea of releasing new recordings of his previously released catalog. Of course, MANY of those tracks we already have in their original form, but there are quite a few that have never circulated. It wouldn't surprise me to see Prince do something like that, honestly.

Of course, as Databank also noted, there are quite a few tracks from the last few years that have never been officially released, so it may be that the next "Phase" is simply more material from recent times. Perhaps each one will be a blending of new material and songs from specific eras? Guess we just have to wait and see where he takes this next.
