Prince doesn't hate his fans. He is indifferent. IMO, Prince only cares about Prince and doesn't think about his fans one way or the other. What makes him an asshole is that, he wants people to buy his records but he treats his fans so horribly. I dont understand how artists can be so entitled but yet expect their fans support. I think some here need to start holding him accountable instead of making excuses for his obnoxious behavior. He will never have a legacy like the Michael's and Madonnas because of the type of antics his pulls. The fact that none of his musc is on youtube or is accessible hurts him more than it hurts his fans, IMO.

Hold on a second - is it not ludicrously selfish for us as fans to demand anything from Prince?

How very dare he live as he likes and treat his art, his creations, as his and distribute them as he sees fit - I wants it precious, gives me it now!!

Prince doesn't hate his fans. He's gave us far, far more than any average artist does. He just sees the distribution of music differently, and he's somewhat contrary by nature.

So look into the mirror, do u recognise some1? Is it who u always hoped u would become, when u were young?

Prince does not hate his fans.

People on here get worked up assuming what it is they want from Prince. When Prince then does what he wants to do, to express himself as an artist, people then think he has gone against what they were wanting.

The so called 'fans' then assume Prince has then stabbed them in the back.

A true fan would not have any expectation and would just except what he creates as he finds new ways of expressing himself.

We are on this journey together so just relax and enjoy the ride.

lol lol lol

i can't see any hate for us...here is why...

music is an essence that could be closer to him than his own heartbeat of which both are a gift from God. That is, each one of us with a beating heart has a tremendous gift from God and opportunity to express Love through the human form (actions in the physical realm).

if Prince 'hated' us, he would be hating a part of God's creation because the part of our lives that we focus on Prince's music, we are co-focusing on God and the flow of God in and out of human form. Love yourSelf more and you will feel the Love of Spirit.

I rather think of it as we the fans are not his #1 priority(which is rational) and vice versa. I do believe he does show the love when performing live and releasing new music, (however, that is gonna cost you $$ wink )

If he'd established an Academy, then people would have graduated from it.

But he didn't inspire them to work on their own thing, he tried to mould them into what he wanted.

Prince a pioneer? He mixed things up in a great way, and he will be remembered for a few great albums and songs. He released about one good song this century - Revelation, which isn't exactly breaking new ground; he no longer has much to say musically.

I agree that Prince was always the driving force, and pushed his band members; and I think a lot of good songs came out of jamming/working with talented musicians. Credit where credit is due, as Prince would say. Not.

(I know that a lot of people are mostly interested in his hair or ass or girlfriends instead of 'who created the groove', guitar parts ad bass liines - but those are the things I'd like to read about in the liner notes on the never forthcoming remasters/Greatest Hits.)

Anyway, back to you.

I don't demand anything from Prince but when promises are made about remasters and vault tracks on Tidal, then I'd like to see those promises honored.

Is that ludicrously selfish?

P hates his fans because he is a spoiled little brat and every spoiled brat hates their own family when they dont get what they want .. Or when they are expected to have manners and basic human decency ... Or put others first .. Or just be less of a rude asshole .. Its so telling how p is bitter over every cent he may or may not be due .. Even bitter towards those he made money off of .. And the fans who defend him are just as bad acting like p has the "right" to all the money for everything ever released completely disregarding the thousands of people who worked to make the prince brand a success ... 4 years was not long enough .. P needs a real time out .. One where he suffers and is forced to think about how he got to the top ... P bitches about contracts but every single person p has employed has had to sign rediculously oppressive contracts and basically agree to give p their musical ideas with no ownership and crap pay ... How is that different than the p wb war? .. Its not! At least wb doesnt go around acting like p doesn't deserve shit because he signed the contract, the way p talks about his former employees .. Total hypocrite .. Shelby probably wrote groovey potential and p fired her so he could take the credit for his one good new song ... Not likely hut far more believable than what comes out of prince mouth

And, like, where was he? What he ate? What were his favorite scriptures that day? Did his hands hurt? Does he hate bugs? Etcetera, etcetera. Prince is music and more, and I love it when he talks about himself. Capisce?

If he was playing the guitar on a certain song and his hands hurt because he had been bible thumping all day, then sure, I'd like to know that. Otherwise, no.

Being a prince fan since 1981 it really bothers me to think about it, but I genuinely think he does hate his fans eek Some fans on here do take things too far and just say anything forgetting that Prince has a family and feelings and Im sure he reads these things. Yes his work is the most bootlegged in history, but I think he has contributed to that by not allowing his work to be easily found. It's sad to see him just kinda fade into history by not allowing his work to be found by younger generations, but if that's what he wants then so be it. Some of the things he has done towards his fans are sad though. I mean suing fans and fan sites eek The one thing that I've always respected about Prince was his ability to keep his life private by suing the hell oughtta folks lol but when you start suing the hand that feeds you something is wrong with that picture. Anyway, he has made some of the most beautiful music ever created and I will always be his fan whether he likes it or not lol heart

Anyway, back to you.

The academy thing is of course a metaphor for a learning ground no need to be so literal. They were paid to do what he wanted of course he "moulded" them -- when you go to school or get a job, you're going to do many things that others have learned before it's called getting an education and valued training.

Then if it all goes well for you, one day if you so desire you move on and then you do your own thing, armed with your education and your experience. Some models leave more space for individual contributions, others are strictly regimented. By the sound of it, Prince was precise in his demands, he is / was definitely a bandleader like his father.

There is "no back at you" if you think you declaring Revelation is only worthy song this century is some kind of definitive fact you just proclaimed.

So have yourself a merry xmas, find someone in the mood to do what you want to do, even an artist you actually like to follow.

Not 'back at', 'back to', which is less antagonistic wink

But I'll take your advice, even though I'll also play Revelation.

His legacy will always be there..
Aside from that, Prince hasn't promoted anything right in

Plus he joined that wacky cult group..

I would think he appreciates his fans for the revenue, but why would one even think he SHOULD love his fans? I love his music, but I don't love him, and I expect no more from him. Being so, of course, if I want to own a copy of his music I pay for it, that's how much I like it, but I seriously doubt I would rush to 'hang out with the man.' I don't know the first thing about him. I would love to talk about the creative process with him concerning his art, but I don't care about anything else, really.

So if he does 'Hate' his fans, I seriously doubt that. I would think if a fan said, "OH, I hate this song you did" to his face, he would probably in his mind think, "We'll f__k you then." On the other hand, if they said they loved a song... it would feel nice to him.

Just the same as any other artist. He is human.
