I checked the lyrics of Vicki Waiting and I don't see anything about coffee.

Obviously. It's stunted his growth.

Coffee stuns growth?

Just looked it up. "...one that deserves a copy made". I'm an idiot. I've been a fan for 30+ years and all this time I thought he said "coffee mate" as a reference to having kids and being married and domesticated. Hence having a "coffee mate" both referring to what a wife can become and referring to an appliance most homes had at the time (now it would be a keurig lol). Instead he is comparing a kid to a carbon copy of oneself. I think my lyric is better with the double entendre but his obviously makes more sense in context. I feel dumb but I love this forum so I will keep these little quizzes coming. I'll just stop relying on my version of lyrics and look up the actual lyric from now on. Gahhh!!
