I loved it when I first heard it but it's fallen in my estimation a fair bit as well. Still though, it shoulda been released in some way.

Me too, completely agree with you about unreleased songs automatically being elevated in peoples estimations.

I think it should have been more in synch with the style of the movie and woven into the film. A lot of the tracks are OK but they sound like what they are: songs Prince had laying around and shoehorned them into the movie by adding samples and changing some lyrics a bit. I think there a reason Burton didn't use much of the music and what he DID use felt forced.
