The version floating around now is a studio version that was played at a Paisley Park party by the DJ. Prince got onstage at 3:50 in and started playing guitar along with the song. The rest of the band and Marcus joined in around 5:00 in.

Audience Recording. Sounds like someone recorded on their Phone. It is indeed from a studio version though.

Its a good prince ballad, thats all. Its no Adore, or near that quality. Just cus its unreleased doesn't make it the best song ever. Its good, thats it.

See, I'm different when it comes to officially releasing Revelation at this point. We have it, now someone with the skills removes the audience from the recording and cleans it up. Love what I hear and it's clearly a beautiful song to my ears but I have it now. These things leak and by the time Prince releases them for fans, the moment has passed. For a man who clearly likes to release music soon after recording, he has been doing a lousy job at it since he gained 100% control.

This was played at Paisley months ago and only now is out there in it's entirety. The odds are that this song isn't going to change his status with the masses so why didn't he release it? Yes, most of us will still buy it if he ever releases it but that's not the point. He demanded the freedom to release at will and got it. So no, I don't need it officially released anymore. The majority of Prince fans will have this and just like so many other songs it will no longer hit us as a new song.

The days where he could go to a club and secretly play Erotic City and watch how the dance floor reacted before releasing is a small period of time in 2015. Recording at Paisley Park happens and it happens a lot. While not being against leaks and bootlegs, I do find it disrespectful to record in what is basically Prince's house. I'm going to listen it because it's there but would I do it? No.

Revelation is a treat to hear and now that it's out there, what's the point in going backwards and officially releasing it? Again, the majority of fans will stumble upon it in due time. Prince has to learn to release his music in a timely manner. Once in a while he gets it right but this time, he let it get by him.
