I honestly have a feeling that some of you have friends that know you're playing Prince but prefer to act surprised and pleased. That what friends are for, happens all the time.

A guy here in the office heard the other day Others Here with Us and liked it but here in Mexico musical culture is poor and for most of people Prince's music is weird and boring, specially these motherfuckers in the office.

I feel the exact same way. I know of a die hard MJ fan and no matter what songs I have played for him he STILL holds on to his favorite and thinks he's P's rival. Ha! They don't even compare and they are complete opposites to me. So, for some they will never open their mind and see or appreciate how talented P is and how there is no one else on the planet that compares to him

I mostly like to play his accoustic or piano pieces, because they're beautiful, especially if I don't know a person's musical taste. This spectrum of his music hardly ever gets any radio play, and only one person in my circle of family and friends are aware he can write this kind of music--that he can do a song like "Ur Gonna C Me", or "Circle of Amour". I usually go for songs that have no swearing and little sex . Too many people think that's all he ever written about. (Plus I don't want to offend them if they are sensitive to risque lyrics and sounds on a song.)

I got my 75-years-young Mom into "No More Candy 4 U". But she absolutely adores the entire One Night Alone album. She especially likes "Pearls B4 The Swine".

When I think about it, I guess I am missing something. Why would someone need or want to get someone else "into" Prince?
