I Wish Prince Would Make A "Clap Back" Album One of these days, I just want Prince to make a "clap back" album where without mentioning names he mocks people who got much to say about him from the media, Questlove, Boy George, Alan Leeds, Toure and even fans in the style of "P.F.U.N.K". I believe Prince still has it in him to write from a angry place and write sardonic songs that are funny and serious at the same time. Prince usually times the high road but for once hearing Prince on the offensive would make for great art and maybe change the way he is seen by fans and critics. But considering his modus operandi, why give folks more attention than they deserve. However, it would be him at his most outspoken since "Black Album" or "Pearls B4 The Swine". Don't care if its in the direction of rock music, funk music, r&b the outcome would be interesting. 3121 #1 THIS YEAR

I'm not saying he has to be offensive like Eminem. I'm saying that people like them speak openly about his music, career and life choices critically and sometimes harshly. It would be cool to me to see Prince sort of "answer" them by creatively by channeling his anger by writing songs that mock their attention on him. You rarely hear Prince if ever talk about other celebs like he knows them better than they do, but celebs from Boy George to Toure make claim after claim about how he is. It would be interesting to hear how he would reference them sarcastically without mentioning them like "Bob George" and "Billy Jack Bitch". 3121 #1 THIS YEAR

"Billy Jack Bitch"-Prince mocked C.J. Johnson the gossip columnist for writing insulting gossip about him from the name change to his appearance and he used his contempt for her by writing a funny song about mean-spirited drivn journalists mocking her and her industry. The lyrics and the way he said it was tongue-in-cheek.
"Bob George"-Prince mocking Nelson George for his take on Prince's career and music not being "black" enough and his relaitonship to former Bob Cavallo.
Prince has written many songs using what is said about him as fuel to channel whatever feelings he has about it for art sake. Much like Michael Jordan reading negative press from critics, other players etc to fuel his competitive desire to prove them wrong and show them up. But in P's case, be frank about the way he sees the people who perceive him and his music good or bad. 3121 #1 THIS YEAR

We don’t mourn artists because we knew them. We mourn them because they helped us know ourselves.

"clap back" is slang for answering barbs, hearsay or remarks said about you. For example, Prince did just that with "P.F.U.N.K." after the P.F.U. debacle. I like when Prince writes and sings from an angry place. 3121 #1 THIS YEAR

He can't do it. PFUNK was exciting for a minute, but overall it's just a much worse version of 'Nasty Girl' with a terrible mix. Prince just can't be bothered with music enough to deliver the goods anymore. I think he had a nervous breakdown.

But a whole album full of it...that would be too much. The angriest album he ever made was that black on and that's exactly why he withdrew it. [Edited 11/4/15 0:20am] [Edited 11/4/15 0:42am]

Not anywhere I've been in my 45 years it isn't.
When I saw the title I thought you were going to be asking for songs where Prince gets you to clap along, much like when Pharell did when he redid, if you're happy and you know it clap your hands and called it Happy. RIP

Also a song like "Old Friends 4 Sale". Prince rarely writes and sing with so much emotional honesty like this and he doesn't even have to name check anyone. More like reference certain events or people that can is thoughtful and artful. It's not about bitterness as much as candidness about the way he sees other people. 3121 #1 THIS YEAR

Now MJ had some brilliant ones like They Don't Care About Us, This Time Around, D.S. etc. Stop the Prince Apologists ™

I could dig a whole album of Prince laying down nasty funk while ripping on perceived enemies, especially if it had a James Brown "Big Payback" sound. ¡The Future Is Ours, If You Can Count! https://www.youtube.com/w...A_zTY0qWWk
