Folks keep blaming Josh. Prince put this out. This Prince album is worse than Chris Brown, Justin Bieber, Trey Songz, etc. Experiemental is "The Undertaker," "Xodus," "The Truth," "The War," "The Rainbow Children," etc. Even if you didn't like The Rainbow Children, it is respected for it artistry. This was pure lazy under the disguise of "experimental" and is far from art.

I don't even see what is supposed to be experimental in HnR. Not that I dislike the album entirely, there's stuff I dig on it, but it's just so totally radio-friendly...

Is this just pure PR or does Prince really believe that there's anything experimental in Josh' work? I can't say.

And yeah people leave Josh alone. He's young, he's been offered the opportunity of a lifetime, I'm sure he's doing his best and that he does it with honesty. Anyone would accept the job he's been offered. If u don't like HnR blame it on the boss, i.e. Prince.

One of my exes stole my Dirty Mind tape back in the day and it was not because she was hiding it , seeing her one day driving around playing it loud and proud.

There's nothing on here that Prince hasn't really done already himself.

The For You/1999/Let's Go Crazy intro (Purple Medley) to the slowed down voices (Bob George, etc) to even the music on Mr. Nelson (very similar to Cream Ethereal Mix) and ending with June (reminiscent of Reflection). The techno bits have been done by Prince either by remixes (My Name Is Prince, etc) to album tracks (Slave, New World, The Human Body).

If Prince wanted a radio-friendly (or radio-copy) album, he could've easily done it himself as he's done it already.

To answer the OP - no, his worst is not better than 95% of current radio music. Not anymore, not for a long time actually.

Exactly and that is in the mid 90's!! And while those are not exactly my favorite tracks, they are still far better.
His newer stuff just sounds so old fashioned and cheesey it's sad.

I have no idea whether if Prince's turd smells better than other people's turds because regardless of who the turds belong to, they're all still shit. Since I don't have a shit fetish, I'm not going to take the time to sniff each turd to see which one smells better because I flush the toilet as soon as the turds drop so I don't have to smell them.

what really shocked me was in 2004 I bought Musicology and was shocked at how bad it was. I knew then it was over. that was the last Prince CD I ever bought. When I moved I left the CD on the floor in the closet among other bad CD's. even Steve Harvey said it was bad on national TV.

When you don't like it you don't like it. Simple. Doesn't matter if it's Prince, Justin Bieber or Chris Brown.
