Anybody ever use the music to Purple Rain as a soul saving song? I think the music could be used to reach lost souls.
Some of the words can be use to like, "I think you better close it
Replace me with him. Him meaning God.
Take the chorus and replace Purple Rain with Jesus Christ.

To Win some souls for Christ.
I love the Original, I'm just saying the music chorus fits perfect for Jesus Christ. (Purple Rain/Jesus Christ) [Edited 10/7/15 11:43am]

It's ambiguous enough to pretty much be anything you want it to be. Purple Rain/Anton LaVey.

If Jesus died for our sins then why is he alive? He didn't die, he took a 3 day nap and when he woke up he was the most powerful being in the universe. That doesn't seem like much of a sacrifice to me. People need to be saved not from some fantasy punishment, but from ignorance.

The song saved me from suicide and gave me a spiritual epiphany. Does that count? ā€ˇhttps://www.youtube.com/@PurpleKnightsPodcast

Carrying a heavy cross for long time (forgot approximate how many feet/miles), jeered at, spit at, yelled at, mocked at the whole way and then nailed to the cross, suffered for 9 hours and then die...And you say thats not much of a sacrifice???

Actually, that was quite normal in the Roman era. People were crucified year-round throughout the centuries. Yet only one of them was/became a religious leader...

I think it very much does! For me one of the beauties of Purple Rain is that it can mean so many different things to different people at different times. I think the stark raw emotionality connects so instantly to the listener that it feels so cathartic at times.
BTW Love your Podcasts!

Yes, he died on the cross for our sins, and he arose in 3 days, because hell could not contain nor defeat the son of God. He is that most powerful being over all, and the sacrifice he made for us, we can never repay. Would you have been willing to take the sins of everyone in the world on your shoulders, and sacrifice your life for them, so that they can have the chance to decide whether they live in eternity with God, or burn for an eternity in hell with satan? It's not fantasy, it's more real than you obviously know, and yes there are some people that need to be save from ignorance, and you are one of them, a prime example.

If I may be granted to make a presumption based solely on diction and level of decorum, I must say that steakfinger is not the prime example.
