Have u seen Baz Luhrmann's version of William Shakespeare's "Romeo + Juliet" ?

Well, the movie is from 1996 or 97 and I haven't actually paid notice that much to the cover of "When Doves Cry". Until now, and it's fantastic.

(back then I saw the movie at home on VHS tape)

I have just discovered the cover from this movie... again.. today..

It's really an amazing cover version with choir arrangements - of course nothing beats the classic original by Prince, maybe Prince's socalled trademark song.

Iirc this song was used at the wedding scene in the film,

Imo.. this gospel-pop version by Quindon Tarver is breathtaking.

the song is on the Original soundtrack, volume 2 - and I have just ordered this CD, (since the song isn't on iTunes or on even Tidal)

Do you know about this cover version? Have you seen the film?

Am I wrong in thinking this is one of the best Prince cover-versions ever, up there with "Nothing Compares 2 U" & "I Feel For U".
