If he wants any kind of a hit, this is one to promote, with Rita.
Hell, she's on this years X Factor panel here in the UK, perform it on the show with her and he'll be back in the UK top 10.
Never gonna happen.
If he wants this album to crossover to a younger audience, which he clearly does judging by its content, then this is exactly the type of stuff he should do. Didnt he do American Idol a few years back? Alas, youre right though. Just take all the things he should do to promote his music and look in the opposite direction, because thats where Prince will be.
I should hate this song. The auto-tuned chorus. The crowded electronic elements, etc. but I can't stop blasting this song. I was set to dismiss this HitnRun album after I heard it but I have listened to it 6 times since it has been released I can't remember listening to a Prince album this much upon release since The Gold Experience. I know I sound crazy but I don't care...bout to play this album again while me and my girl....
if your life is the b-side, my dream is the a i got a rockstar salad crusher can I drink away?
i come from north minnie etc etc
what is the real lyric there?
No idea, I'm not 'street' enough to understand any of the lyrics on these early tracks. I thought he was saying "in a club full of thoughts", on Like a Mack, thot wasn't a word I'd ever heard so could never have transcribed it as that.

I don't think many of us are 'street' enough for this album. I'm also struggling with what he says after salad crusher. I'm not quite a Rita Bot yet but this song is surprisingly growing on me.

Exactly, the Org is nowhere "street enough".
We're more like "avenue enough". The one with the big museum.
Then I figured out they were actually saying the 'blood clot' bit.
That aside, I think if this had been on Rita's album people here who hate it would've been saying 'Why doesn't Prince do something like this on HIS album?'
One of the very worst songs on the album and amongst the worst he has ever issued. Total sell out rap crap aimed at mouthbreeders and juveniles. This song features Rita Ora, a very low quality British rap/pop singer and is just bombastic, computer injected, 2001 style r&b autotune nonsense. I give it a 1/10 and place it below Boytrouble. It is a 57 year old man acting like an IQ 66 15 year old wannabe rapper.
.
Boytrouble is adore next to this rubbish.
Got some kind of love for you, and I don't even know your name
