Prince's Over the Top Promotion of Josh If the dude has talent, it will speak for itself. I understand some promotion but him going out of his way to put Josh in the spotlight is actually a red flag for most of us. Prince didn't have to say much about John Blackwell or Llianne Le Havas or other talented artists that he has collaborated with. But he was over the top with Bria and others. Prince, do Josh a favor and don't be so heavy handed with the promotion. | |

Prince is strange lately I love his music but the other he gets he promotes talentless people and seems to shy away from his peers of talents like Wendy Lisa , the time, npg he only wanna promote young average artist | |

There are so many musicians Prince has worked with who got little to no recognition - maybe this a more mature, respectful Prince. I just wish he was giving credit to someone who added something to his music aside from a sound effects library including countless whooshes and bland beats. You also have to wonder where the over the top shilling was for folks like Sheila E., Wendy and Lisa, or the other talented people he's worked with. Oh wait, they didn't need that. Their talent spoke for themselves. If trash like that TCBU remix and Art Official Cage is indicative of Josh's "talent", one could see why he's only working with Prince (who's known to constantly peddle talentless hacks onto his fans) and other artists aren't lining up to use him on their projects... | |

I'm going to start a scrapbook for all of these Josh threads of recent. Someone should just make a master thread where all discussion of him can be held.
In regards to the thread I think he's just trying to promote him as a producer so he can also find others to work with, not just Prince, maybe? P seems really fond of the guy so if he wants to help kickstart his career that can't be a bad thing of him to do. | |

I don't get it either. AOA seemed like it was one of his all round best received albums on here for a good while. There were two or three tracks on there on which Prince didn't even play a single note and I'm sure Josh had a hand in most of them. RIP | |

I agree on Hardrocklover and if Josh is responsible for Way Back Home that's 2 of Prince's best songs in recent years he's had a hand in to be fair to him. . Don't see how Prince is promoting him though. He's been given an opportunity so can't blame him for taking it. Suppose Prince has always delegated to people in his crew and push them into bigger roles like Sheila E, Kirky J, Tony M, Steve Parke etc. | |
