Most of us have heard four tracks, which is up to half the album. Most of us tend to agree that all four of those tracks range in quality. So, you can be quite confident is saying the album, taken as whole, isn't going to be a winner.
Simple logic really. [Edited 9/3/15 13:53pm]

It might end up being a very enjoyable album. Who the fuck knows. It sure seems lazy though. "Drop that stereo before I blow your Goddamn nuts off, asshole!"

...songs with titles like "Like a Mack" don't instill confidence. Let's be honest.

and if "Mr. Nelson" extends the La Havas verbal diarrhea from AOA, then Prince is done, finally.

It'd be cool if there was a Prince message board for people who actually like Prince.

judging by the electronic stylings of AoA and the other new songs we've heard - i'm expecting 1000 hugs and kisses to be a new 'modern' remake. I very much doubt he will release the smooth jazzy original on an "experimental" album. but i've got the original in pretty good quality, so I'll be interested in a new mix.

Christ. I can just imagine how boring that would be. No thanks. I prefer my world more diverse than that.

I still have Black Messiah to listen to. The album Prince wishes he had made. Shitruns lol very well played or ...maybe not but funny. The last time you were this down was after listening to AOA you went around and said you hated it... it was terrible. Then boom the next days you were apologizing saying you were wrong and you really liked it C'mon buddy just wait and hear it first. If you like it you like it... if you don't you don't Dance... Now I do agree with that. Remember after the SB when Prince did that show? I cant remember the name of it but people tuned in to watch that... and he came on there and performed that song. I have felt embarassed for Prince before but that was a real low point. It is a dreadful song. Every single bit of it... certainly not worth remixing or even thinking about yet here this goofball puts it on an album two years later Prince is just flat weird Dance... Let me see you dance

I see a Prince song title like "Hardrocklover" or especially "Like A Mack" and I feel... sad. He's still trying to "keep up", like way back in the 90s when music shifted in a different direction, and instead of creating trends, he was chasing them. . Prince to me was never "hard" or "street". (Thank you, Rik Mayall.) But he did seem "dangerous", in an oddly mysterious way, and that served his image well in the brightly-colored kaleidoscope of the early and mid 80s. But it could never last, and the door he kicked open was bum-rushed by dozens of soulful bands that took his legacy and ran with it. He has spent decades now trying to be relevant, and it just hasn't worked. . Look, I love Prince. His music has been a huge part of my life. But I'm not blind, either. He's created an insular world for himself that doesn't allow for the flood of creative collaboration he experienced with The Revolution. And he's driven himself into a rut production-wise because of it. . The music he's making these days hasn't appealed to me for a long time. Since "Rainbow Children", actually. There have been songs here and there I've enjoyed, but for the most part his current direction isn't doing anything for me. For ME. Others here love it, and that's great. My opinion isn't meant to take away anyone else's enjoyment, nor should it. . I just miss being excited for a new Prince album, I guess.

Yeah, fallinlove's melody is just silly and 'whatever her name is' can't sing. It's a farce. A disgrace. The Prince from '87 would be appalled.

If you like it you like it... if you don't you don't AOA didn't have chimp noises and remixes of previous songs and FALLINLOVE2NITE, which is a fucking partial birth abortion set to music. That being said, I posted above that the album could surprise me. I'm not entirely negative, buddy. I leave open a 10% chance the album won't blow ass. I agree, he spend to much time chasing trends and trying to keep up, therefore the lack of quality albums in recent years. These days it's not about how good the next Prince album will be, it's about if it will at least have few decent songs on it. For me Lotusflow3r was the last well crafted and strong album by Prince Welcome 2 The Dawn

I enjoyed AOA, but I find myself listening to 20ten more. I think it's generally well-crafted and he's spending the whole album chasing trends. But fuck those last two songs. "Drop that stereo before I blow your Goddamn nuts off, asshole!"
