Yes, this is definitely it. All his albums will be called Hit & Run from now on. Not only that, after releasing Hit & Run Phase 5, Prince will finally come with out with the much-awaited remasters, but they will all be retitled Hit and Run Prologue Phase. Like AOA Will Be Hit and Run Prologue Phase 1, While For You Will Be Prologue Phase 45 or whatever. Funky alien

I have wondered about that title as well. Prince 4Ever.

Phase 1 is the cash-in phase. The rest is irrelevant. Pills and thrills and daffodils will kill... If you don't believe me or don't get it, I don't have time to try to convince you, sorry.

It probably means he has an idea for phase 2 that we'll never actually see.

Can't know what it means. If I had to speculate w/optimism for "Hit and Run", given the samples on "Stare", I'd hope for creative use of his own samples throughout the new album.
Industry folks - does sampling his own work in a new song get him paid 1.5 - 2x in streaming royalties?
But yeah, it - sounds - like he ran out of (time for) ideas for titles. He's named his tour(s) the same thing for years.
RE: Phase 1? - this is probably that same hype gimmick of 'more to come' from back in the day, where artists name their albums "Pt. 1" then never release "Pt. 2". Or years later, fuel fandom with talk of "Pt. 2" may be seeing light of day! (e.g. Lauryn Hill?)
In other words... more of the same *CoNtRoVeRsY*
