Yep, and the article about him pulling the catalogue from streaming. Now I'm thinking it's highly unlikely too.

His 80s work is desperately in need of remastering + all the unreleased killers that could go with them.

The animation kinda suggests it's something to do with his old catalogue but knowing how often we've been shafted before I'm definitely not getting my hopes up. Probs something dumb like announcement about availability on Tidal, I would love to be proven wrong though.

I'm missing something, what animation? (I'm reading this on my pone, it might be something really obvious which is just not showing here, sorry if it is!)

You might not be able to view the gif on your phone, it's basically an animation of a stylised image of Prince's head (in the style of his avatar image pic) going through the various looks he had from different eras from For You until the Symbol LP and then back to his current look.

i just posted this on another thread, but it fits here as well:

Parade is my favorit prince album and i always thought it sounded ok on cd, especially when you

compare it to the quality of Sign o The Times.

i've listened to all his albums many many times, but Parade, since i got it in 1988 when i became

a prince fan, i think i listened to it about 4,000 times all the way through. i didn't think there was

anything about Parade i did not know. i thought i knew every tiny tiny sound in each song.

until I found a FLAC vinyl rip last year. a huge file. decided to download and give it a go. put on a

new pair of semi-decent headphones, pressed play and: MIND COMPLETELY BLOWN TO F#CKING
PIECES. it sounded like parade, in 3D with noises and backgrounds floating into my ears that i had

never ever heard before, let alone knowingly picked up on.

it was such a brilliant night, listening to that, the excitement was so palpable, i got goosebumps,
laughing fits, stank face, you name it.

if that is what DECENT, WELL EXECUTED remasters could bring to the table, i'd buy them even if
they'd cost 50 dollars each.

Anyone who doesn't think they need remastering truly has ears of tin.

Yeah, I agree, I really want a Parade remaster. Obvs SOTT is the one that really sounds shitty, and if I could only have one I would probably choose that (and maybe The Black Album) but I've always thought of Parade as such a colourful album despite the B&W theme, and I would love the arrangements to be brought to life through a remaster. The songs that are the same as the album versions sound a lot better on the Parade Demos bootleg so I've got a taste of what a better sounding version would be like, but I'd love an official product. Again, not getting my hopes up for tomorrow, but it would be amazing.

Well, it is interesting... the gifs cover every album through Diamonds & Pearls, then 3rdEye, then Prince as he is now... I say remasters of every album through D&P, plus two new albums. We can dream!

For sure, he's going to release a 20 disc box set full of vault stuff in pristine quality, PLUS the 15 disc box set about all his protégés projects. not to forget the 10 disc LIVE CAN BE SO NICE, which features 12 of his most legendary live shows.

That said, don't expect a UTCM director's cut.

What is the supposed connection between a PR reissue somehere in the future and the battle over rights paid for streaming content?

P gets fed up with the low income generated via streaming and gambles on the reissue again?!

I would! I don't know about you,but I prefer CDs with amazing sound.Several of Prince's CDs (especially Controversy and Sign O The Times) sound so flat and quiet.Needs to be freshly remastered!
