what is the most you would pay for the entire 80s vault on a USB

Say Prince was auctioning off a USB which held every vaulted song from the 70s and 80s only in the highest possible quality. There was only one USB what is the most you see yourself realistically paying to win?

I'm not sure there is a sizable USB on the market that could harbour every vaulted song from the 70s and 80s only in the highest possible quality.

Frankly, I wouldn't pay anything. It's Prince. The stuff eventually leakes any way.

I collect a lot of stuff from Michael Jackson, George Michael, James Brown, Janet Jackson, Grace Jones, Stevie Wonder that would make any fan of music jizz. Reason? I know they wont leak.

Why wouldn't stuff from MJ and GM eventually leak so far stuff has although somewhat slow but that is only because they dont have an abundance of unreleased items.

(also what specifically in your opinion is not going to leak GM related)

Because I have sources that fans don't?

Also, there is a shit-ton of Michael Jackson stuff out there in the hands of collectors. It just doesn't leak, because fans are so protective and/ or selfish. Nowhere near the rate of Prince stuff.

And in regards to George Michael - Andros has been selling stuff the fans since the late 90's and some of it still hasn't seend the light of day. It's just part of the multitude of reason George hates him. The only reason an hour or so of the Trojan Souls sessions leak is because of yours truely. That, and there are A LOT of fakers in the GM communities.

1. What makes you think that the latest USB flash drive isn´t big enough to store the whole vault? I mean, some have 512 GB or one TB now. If we´re talking about unreleased songs/outtakes, then they´d easily fit on one of those, unless we count the live shows and rehearsals as well.

2. I wasn´t aware of unreleased George Michael music. Who is Andros? A former associate?

I´d pay a dollar per song. But only if I get to choose the songs.

Are you sure there is a shit-ton of MJ stuff in comparison to Prince? (the comparison is important more exists more likely to leak) the first thing that comes to mind is concerts being 90% of the shitload because he doesnt have many studio songs in collectors his hands.. or do they?

But most of Andros' stuff has come out? We have got so, so much these last two years. What are examples of this stuff? Stephen, Last Xmas Demo, People.. I mean really theres not much

I once tried to sell my worries but no one would buy them.

Anyway, to answer your question, it would depend on the song list. For instance, if it's made up of stuff I already have, then maybe not so much - $50?

If it contains a lot of songs I've never heard, then maybe $100?

I don't know how/why it has to be a USB drive. Here's a novel idea - and if anyone in Prince's camp is reading this, I hereby grant you permission to use this idea, because clearly no one there has ever thought of it - set up a website and offer FLAC downloads. Pay per download, with discounts for 10 songs, 50 songs, 100 songs, however many there are.

.

$1 per song is Prince's going rate on current material. Let's double his take for songs he didn't feel should be heard, didn't fit an album, were too personal. Quadruple it for songs that have swearing - I'll pay a premium to put an end to the backmasking or horrible editing.

$77.00 Lifetime membership to access the Vault of course.
Prince did an interview with a woman at Record World. They talked about whatever, then he asked her: "Does your pubic hair go up to your navel?" At that moment, we thought maybe we shouldn't encourage him to do interviews.

If I was a millionaire I'd pay whatever he asks.

But realistically? I could simply never afford it, I'm pretty penniless at the moment and even on normal times I hardly ever have more than a few thousand bucks on my bank account (that I'd gladly give for your hard drive, though, but some'd beat me to it).

Another thing: I don't want every vault song from the 70's and 80's. I want every vault song from the 70's to NOW. I don't fancy the 80's stuff more than what followed.

Really? Imagine Prince put a twelve hour rehearsal in the vault. Would you really want to spend twelve hours listening to it?

databank specified every song, not every performance or rehearsal...

but, to answer your question, depends on the recording, if it held my interest for 12 hours, sure. If it was repetitive or for some other reason uninteresting, no.

Some of my all time favorite bootlegs are rehearsals. I prefer some good rehearsals over unreleased songs.

That birthday rehearsal in 1984, or the 1983-85 rehearsals before Paisley Park was opened. Those are some of my favorite Prince recordings regardless of the sound quality. Now imagine them in pristine quality. That woudl be really cool. Those Eden Praire warehouse rehearsals, you know, like that Neon Rendezvous bootleg or those black and white rehearsal videos. I´d gladly pay for those. Sometimes I listen to the Noon Rendezvous rehearsal for hours.
