When will Prince finally allow people to post his stuff online? I'm a fan but I don't get his deal with the web. I have many cover versions of his songs that I made that I hope to upload online without getting a court order.

Call me optimistic about prince's mind-set but I don't think his obsession is about him earning money per se. It feels more like he objects to other people earning money on the back of him. If something could be truly "free" I feel he might run with it. However you tube etc earn advertising revenue n the artist gets no share. I think its just a justice issue. Prince knows he's secure but he knows a lot aren't | |

I think things might change when prince finally gets totally free of WB. He might then decide on creating a proper archival program and this might lead not to him allowing people to post his vids on YT but at least the creation of an official YT channel with his videos catalogue. Or not. But I bet as long as he's under his exclusive licencing deal with WB nothing will happen, at all.
