a REAL thread about Paisley Park's architecture ok, that other thread had an interesting idea, but the posts are way too wack. So here's the thread again without it being the "tipn4u talks too much thread."
Paisley Park is a cool building. Sure it's a bit office-building-like on the outside, but if you really check it out, it's great. Especially inside. What do u all think of the overall style of the building, structural and otherwise? (Talkin-out-they-neck gibberish people need not apply). How do you feel when visiting it (besides the fact that it's Prince's place -- say you didn't know what the building was and got to go on a tour of it. How do u like it?) open yo mind, the entire universe you'll find

It's got some God awful decorating. Talk about gaudy.
I know some of you are going to call me dumb, tasteless and so on...but come on does a man really need a that big of a painting of himself in the lobby of his building? That lobby painting reminds me of all the paintings of Saddam around Iraq. It's an ego thing. For the record I do kind of like the eyes in the symbol which are also in the lobby. Also, what's with the color schemes? . [This message was edited Sun Mar 23 10:05:41 PST 2003 by lovemachine]

As for the PP building, it's not really architecture.
Pre-fab office. Architecture. Some people are like Slinkies...

What do u all think of the overall style of the building, structural and otherwise? (Talkin-out-they-neck gibberish people need not apply). How do you feel when visiting it (besides the fact that it's Prince's place -- say you didn't know what the building was and got to go on a tour of it. How do u like it?) I think it's very modern, and interesting the way it's built--with all the curvatures and beautiful lg. windows etc. it looks like it could be several "differently" shaped structures instead of the one massive, unique bldg. it is. however unique it is (& it is), i have seen a bldg. or 2 that looks very similiar except for various architecture features, right here in wi. in fact as i pass, i think, "wow, that looks like paisley park. wonder if the same architects did these?" i am speaking of the outer shell of the bldg. actually it "SOUNDS" beautiful inside as i listen 2 some ppl describe it. i, myself never winessed more than the soundstage, (which at the time, last yr. had some of its beauty ruined by the careless ppl who littered up the room with water bottles etc.) and the bathrooms just to the right of the entrance, (which again, were very "walmart type" dirty from careless ppl) the npg room, (loved the rainbow children cover on the wall!) and lobby. when i got there mid week, the other areas were closed off bcuz of ppl taking princes stuff. unreal. i could never steal from such a trusting person as prince, or ANYONE 4 that matter! and how stupid can one be knowing P has cameras up the gazoo all over. i do hope those caught got arrested & that P didnt let it go! so bcuz of these ppl. i didnt get to see his atrium, doves, pictures or records on the wall, the "other" beauty paisley is known 4. the soundstage was very nostalgic though as so many things were produced there. i enjoyed watching them take the whole thing down the last nite. very interesting. also very sad. i guess the bldg. signify's "PRINCE" to me. thats mainly why it is sooo special. if it was 1/2 that size, and not as impressive, i'd feel the same. it's his talent, not the glitter that shines. (4 me) May the BELLS ring 4 U even when ur not in love.
