Based on Howard's belief that he himself is a genius, he and his crew were debating who in the entertainment industry were geniuses. Gary Delabate named Prince and Howard instantly said "genius". Gary said "was a genius" and Howard said "still is".

I love that Howard Stern is fan of Prince's music

I have been listening to Howard Stern for 12 years and yes, he's talked a lot of shit about Prince but can you blame him? How long did it take many of us to understand where Prince was coming from. The everyday Prince fan just couldn' compute.

As much shit as he's talked, he's praised Prince time and time again. I've heard it with my own ears. When the radio station that Howard Stern broadcasts on changed formats, they invited Howard to Guest DJ for the first shift to celebrate the fact that they were changing their format. The 2nd song that Howard Stern played, in it's entirety by the way, was Let's Go Crazy. As he threw it on he commented that he was sure that a lot of people were surprised that he was playing a Prince song but he said that he loved Prince's music.

now watch all the Princefanatics come and give praise where before they were damning Stern to hell for ever being critical of Prince

You know I was driving to work this morning and heard the names he said but didn't hear them all...I wondered if he would mention Prince but thought maybe not considering he said Peter Sellers(pink panther),Bill Cosby, Jim Carey, Robin Williams,Jon Belushgi amongst many others were not true geniuses...wonder if they will show it on E tonite...

Since I've listened to his show for 12 years I know that underneath all the fart humor and incessant obsession with sex there is a very smart man.

Stern is irritating. I dig him but he flips on folks all the time. One day he'll say how wonderful they are, a few weeks later he's dogging them the fuck out. It all depends on his mood, he's got too many faces...

Stern is "schtick", point blank. He was original-authentic for maybe 2 years..he found something that stuck to the wall and stuck with it...and stuck with it..and stuck with...

If you've only listened to Stern once in a blue moon, his comments may seem completely ignorant.

Its just part of his personality, not to be taken seriously.
