On second thought,

"Condition Of The Heart" on german 1985 vynil.

It seems like a pretty good benchmark, you have pianissimos and fortissimos.

The Colors R brighter, the Bond is much tighter
No Child's a failure
Until the Blue Sailboat sails him away from his dreams
Don't Ever Lose, Don't Ever Lose
Don't Ever Lose Your Dreams

I'd add Joy in Repetition to the list. Love this song loud, on vinyl, through a good system.

Chili Sauce.

I like this choice. Also, some of the 12-inch vinyl from the 1980s sounds great, thanks to the spread-out record grooves. One that comes to mind is Glam Slam Escape. Also love sound of Come On from NPG Soul.

If you've got funk, you've got style.

FYI, I think WEA Germany was pressing Prince for basically the whole Europe (I absolutely have no source to confirm that, just common sense), so any european vynil should do (maybe not U.K., though - maybe someone can confirm).

It has to have "Alsdorf", engraved in the vynil itself, not the sticker.

"Sign O The Times" Maxi Single, Dirty Mind the album... In France, they were all printed in Germany.

And believe me, in the eighties, German made like the best sounding vynils there are (think Deutsche Gramofon).

If you don't have a german pressing of Erotic City, you miss half of the sound.
You never heard the song, in fact ! razz lol

(OK, I don't speak for american printings, never heard one. But if it's like cars, I would go Wunderbar smile ).
