So I gotta decide if I buy the CD for my collection because of my addiction to having every official release with Prince that I can get my hands on or.... simply downloading the one song, 'cuz I KNOW I won't be liking anything else on the disc. confused

Not dead, not in prison, still funkin'...

that gown disbelief nuts what was Rihanna thinking?! lol

About Lupita's stunningly beautiful, flowing blue gown from last year perhaps. Rihanna got as much attention this year with that one.
What?

No way JW sits this one out. It's got to be a JW beat with Prince lyrics, bass and guitar. They are joined at the hip. They are Tricky and Christopher running through chicks on the Riviera, only it's pop starlets and tracks. Seriously, I think Prince is determined to get JW some credibility. This could be good.

We don't know how much input the kid had on AOA, I don't want to pin that crappy production on him without the inside scoop. I love that Prince helps young talent. As bad as the production on AOA is, Prince is ultimately responsible for it. And honestly it sounds so stale, old, cobwebby and tired that I can't see how a young person could be completely responsible for that. And I still think Prince is losing his hearing for AOA to sound so thin and tinny and still think it's ok to send it out the door. [Edited 2/23/15 21:26pm]

Only on the org do people think that JW is more talented than Prince.

The wooh is on the one!

Get it. Give it a try, you never know. Rihanna has recorded some cracking songs, OK they might not be lyrically deep and sure she's just an average singer but she has good producers and songwriters.

I never find her stuff offensive to the ear.

Just somewhere in the middle,
Not too good and not too bad.

Was it written specifically for her?

Maybe a demo of the track went out to the big labels, and was probably taken by the highest bidder?

Either way she can be hit or miss, hopefully he will have some involvement in the final product.

This is interesting. Prince is quite clever. NPGpublishing will only reap the rewards of this and any other 'hip' artist he chooses to write for - as if this sells who's gonna get paid? wink

Prince is kinda using the game to its own advantage. Complain about the lack of True artistry in music, sell your music to said 'singers', see that track sell millions, Prince gets rich. Nice business plan

Just a thought, but could the song be the reworked version of Standing at the Alter? You could see Rihanna singing this. The new version was played before Christmas at Paisley Park.

I haven't heard the song, but it wouldn't surprise me at all if the track was bad and Rhianna wanted it anyway just because Prince's name is attatched. Prince could write a song for almost anybody and they would include it on the album, just because he is a legend. It's surprising that no music came out of the Beyonce/Prince friendship a few years ago. Hopefully it's a good song though and the beginning of better things for Prince.

It has been highly speculated, that Beyonce used an unreleased prince track 4 one of her commercials. It undeniably had his intricate sound. But strangely was never released.

[Edited 2/24/15 7:30am]

eye will ALWAYS think of prince like a "ACT OF GOD"! N another realm. eye mean of all people who might of been aliens or angels.if found out that prince wasn't of this earth, eye would not have been that surprised. R.I.P. prince

sometimes things just dont work and.or match the particular sound and or theme of rest of songs on cd...So, to speaculate that no music came is pure conjecture..
