Militant, do you think that they will be using footage from the 1988/89 documentary that was sheleved? From what has been released so far from that unfinished project looked so interesting. Hope this one comes to fruition.

Prince's body of work is fascinating I hope this documentary spends plenty of time on his process, rather than just offer the usual chronology. Great to find an Orger is involved, next you'll learn they made a documentary about us crazy denizens of www.prince.org.

If you're going to have a documentary done you'd probably want the BBC involved in some capacity.

What do you mean? Who was telling people not to talk to them?

The venue/security, apparently people in the queue we're being told if they were caught talking to them they risk not being allowed into the venue. (they were intervieing people)


Although they could have thought that they were interviwing for the news or something, but im sure they were told that wasnt the case.

Which one was that? I thought they only did the Omnibus doc at the beginning of the 90s. Thought it was quite good.

one of the admins of AR wasn't happy they were filming, but as the guys were breaking no laws and perfectly within their rights to film, and she couldn't persuade them nicely, she asked a security guy to go down the line telling people if they were caught speaking to the bbc they wouldn't be let in, for breaching the confidentiality agreement imposed by the ticket. whether they would actually do that or not, or had the right to do it or not is irrelevant as they never did it

i had a quick word with one of the guys who i'd spoken to before at a few gigs and within a few seconds they saw my point of view and left. they got the footage they wanted, AR were happy they moved and no fans had any hassle

it was strange as the next day there was loads of stuff on telly about AR, but perhaps they were concerned they would be on the news that night and have loads of fans coming down and causing hassle, or celeb spotters etc, but that wasn't what they were looking to do, but i suppose loads of people don't trust journalists. they still could have reported the news without footage tho, which they didn't

there was also a crew of official AR folk filming fans in the pub across from kokos, which is where the bbc setup and filmed folk, who weren't in the line and weren't warned not to talk to the bbc. but AR did say they wouldn't do anything if you filmed before the warning. not that they would be able to do much about it, but if you were on the 6pm news getting interviewed and they say it and spotted you try and get in, you never know what might have happened. nothing is ever easy and simple and normal in princeland

there was purple reign or something in dec 13 i think, and one last year too, plus the princes millions from about 2003

Yeah I think they maybe thought it was for like the 6pm news or something and didnt want to cause people to turn up without tickets etc...

So there wasn't actually any of the concert filmed?

not officially. princes folk may have recorded it from the back but no obvious cameras

Well there is no doubt that when it comes to Prince in the 80s, the story has been told. Short of Prince speaking on it himself. I doubt there can be much "new" info in that respect.

The 90s tend to be wrapped up fairly quickly, and from the turn of the milenium onwards fairly little seems to be known. Despite him being quite active.
