Shortly after he changed his name he gave an interview and someone asked "what do your workers call you?" He said "Sir". That's rather bad ass. |

NO - it really means TheEnglishGent is still riding my jock with the passive aggressive feminine sniping after he came for me and got exposed by facts and straight talk. |

For me, 2004 ROck n Roll Hall of Fame: in front of his "peers" he completely wrecked a stage that included Steve Winwood, Tom Petty, and Jeff Lyne while thoroughlty whipping Eric Clapton's ass on the solo during "WHile My Guitar Gently Weeps", throwing his now legendary Tellecaster into the front row, and pimping off the stage. It was a motherfuckin clinic on muscianship, showmanship, and coolness. It was one of the moments that defined why I have been a fanatic since 1978 and why no one can tell me that there is another human on this planet tha can touch him.
You realize he was allowed that degree of spotlight because it was his year of induction, don't you? Yes, he's talented & it was impressive playing, but it happens every year. |

Huh?
How did I, 'come at you?' and what exactly got exposed? I guess I'm too dumb for this conversation.
I guess with an excess of education you start to read more between the lines than is actually written. [Edited 2/9/15 6:10am] RIP |

To be honest...
The guitar playing wasnt as 'Fabulous' as many people make it out to be..
He took a nice solo-
any decent professional guitarist could play
what he played note for note...
Add the pimpin' hat and Princely flair & it
was a nice moment but.. IMO not earth shattering.

What does that have to do with the performance? It is what he did with that spotlight - in front of his so-called peers. That is what this thread is about. |

Grammy's 1985.
No other artist can whip other artists into such a frenzy as to have them partying onstage!
Aw man, I was gonna write this one
For real though, the white sequined outfit, the dancing, Jerome jumping, the totally WACKY clothes the Revolution were rocking, splits, getting celebrities in the room to flood the stage and dance, and then that epic music that played after he kissed Apollonia, when he runs off stage shirtless and towards the exit with his manager(?) following. Damn. That's arguably the most epic Grammy performance ever and it still 'wows' me every time I watch it. Truly badass. The night where everyone in Prince's camp (Apple 6, members of the Time, Revolution, Sheila) just went on stage and into the tv screens of millions and had a purple party.
Maybe do, just not like did before |

I also dig the 'Peach' performance in 1994 (the video is better though, imo). One of his best live guitar was on the 1990 Nude Tour performance of Bambi in Japan Maybe do, just not like did before |

Why even come to this site if you feel that way? I will never understand people who hate Prrince that insist on visiting a Prince fan site to post negative things for people who love Prince to read. What do you get out of that and what does that say about you? Wouldnt it be better for you to find something that you like and post there so you can have some peace?
I don't hate Prince but he can certainly be a dick.
I do love Prince's music and shows rather a lot.
Maybe you should read my posts from your thread the other day where you were being negative about AOA being produced, composed, arranged and performed by Prince and Joshua Welton. You know, the thread where you were being negative and I posted something positive. I must admit, I did wonder at the time why you even bothered coming to this site if all you were going to do was make a negative thread...
In that very thread you moan about the dreadful release party. Well, that dreadful party is exactly the sort of thing I'm referring to in my post above. Hh ahs the potential to do something superb and just fucks it up.
