Are you like 15 yo or something? Or mentally disabled (not that there's anything wrong with that if you are.. ) WTF does FIL2N have to do with anything I've said? Nothing. It has absolutely NOTHING to do with anything that I've posted in this thread.. In fact your response above has absolutely nothing to do with anything I've posted either. Are you ok in the head???? Like seriously.. maybe you should talk to someone because the sheer randomness of the stuff you say and your lack of ability to follow a discussion is pretty worrying. Lol ok, whatever. Now the name calling as the last resort. Who's the 15yr old lol | |

yeah right, you couldn' change the thing that within two weeks, Prince had his first top 50 airplay hit in almost twenty years. If it was tied up with the SB, with music video, etc. it would have have been a lasting hit. I don't understand your point : what has the quality to do with sales ? Remember Gangnam Style ? You think the Korean singer is the type of guy who usually airs on mtv, or what teenagers are listening ? Common...Top 40 is full of crap like FIL2. With a good marketing plan, you can sell anything, even shit. History proved it. | |

Airplai is cold fact too. Can you quote me a song that was high on airplay but low on sales ? Completely illogical. | |

------ Prince or WB cannot make radio stations play the songs. The fact is the CD stayed in the Top Twenty of the RnB chart for a few months with not airplay or promotion. RnB audiences like this CD but the lack of radio play hurt it in the end. After watching the Grammies and looking at the songs in the RnB catagory AOA is a billion times better than any of that stuff. Some serious black balling going on. | |

We were talking about FIL2N:-P Again, quality has nothing to do with sales or awards. Awards are given to artists who sells well. And again, there's no proof that AOA was bought by afro americans, just because it's labelled rnb. In fact almost nobody bought AOA. There was no promotion too and a lower fanbase for BLACK MESSIAH and it sells well. And BLACK MESSIAH is far from being dead on the charts. Prince and WB can make radio play the songs. It's called payola, sponsoring...Prince could also make promotion himself by performing on radio stations, or doing interviews | |

Bumped up 1 to #26 today with a +7 spins. The good news is it's gaining spins each day, the bad news is it's not gaining them very quickly. The spins need to double just to move up 5 more spots. | |

Charts update, following the new billboard published
THIS COULD BE US entered the weekly UAC chart for the 1st time, at #29. It should get higher next week AOA reentered the rnb album chart at #43 (18th week). It should get higher next week PR, for its 272th week, is at #6 on the catalog rnb chart (just behind THRILLER, at #5 !) . Just to give an idea of how this numbers are low, REALLY LOVE's D ANGELO is at #6 on UAC and #43 on rnb chart, and is not charting on Hot 100. TCBU is really, far from it.

Artists similar to Prince (should I say "sub-Prince" ) are selling much more than him. In the USA, released the same year, AOA sold 100 k, PLEC 40 k, BLACK MESSIAH 210 k (and it will go GOLD for sure this year) and MORNING PHASE 310 K (and it will go gold too). Even their initial numbers during the 1st week of sales are higher than that of Prince. Prince is losing his fans months after months, and is not getting new ones. With or without promotion, the 1st week of AOA and PLEC were catastrophical. And I'm sure that both Prince and WB thought it would sell much more. | |

Well, I didn't say that to put down or his sales down. It's just a sad fact. When black artist get over 50, radio won't touch them, @ least pop radio won't. Eye was actually sadden when I turned the radio on & heard "Really Love". Eye was like D is just imitating 's intricate vocals. But with that said, Pop radio isn't playing D, just urban stations. Bruno Mars "Uptown Funk" is another song that virtually copies 's sound also. Radio has embraced it like it's the newest sound they ever heard..
Also I'm highly offended that U would tell that lie " is losing his fans"! If U ever attended his shows, he has a lot of younger fans also, that is growing from their parents listening to him.
Radio is politics. Artist like Beyonce, Bruno Mars are guaranteed to automatically get radio play instantly. Beyonce's fake, writing song "Love On Top" is another song ripping sound off. It got instant radio play.
Anywho on my way home, Guess who was played on the radio?! 's new single TCBU... will ALWAYS think of like a "ACT OF GOD"! N another realm. mean of all people who might of been aliens or angels.if found out that wasn't of this earth, would not have been that surprised. R.I.P. | |

The song is regaining momentum - moving up 3 spots today to #23, with a +31 spins and a +24 bullet (whatever that means)

UAC appears to be a really slow moving chart. This Could Be Us has now been on the chart 23 days and is now at #23. Only two songs ahead of it has been on the chart less time. D'Angelo, now at #7, has been on the chart 62 days. The 6 songs ahead of that have been on the chart anywhere from 4 to 9.5 months.
Why are you comparing performance of a song that's in it's 9th week to a 3 week old song? | |

I'm not comparing, I just said that even being at #6 on UAC charts, REALLY LOVE is only at #43 on rnb charts and is not on HOT 100. Even if TCBU reach the #6 mark, being at #43 on rnb is rather low. Recently prince did better with only airplay song, FUTURE BABY MAMA was #39 on rnb charts. | |
- E-mail - orgNote - Report post to moderator |
Why are you constantly calling Prince "" lol ? If prince had new younger fans, why are they don't buy his albums ? Why PLEC sold only 40 k in the USA ? Where are the fans ? | |
- E-mail - orgNote - Report post to moderator |
Mr respectwhatsoever, who is very insulting (you should imitate your artist and change your name),
You're right, I thought that after the grammy, the song will tank. It's always good to see Prince on charts, but common, TCBU could be at #6 on the UAC charts, that won't make AOA return to the BB 200. 200, 500 spins is till low and it makes an impact only at the bottom of sub charts. IF you add every charts (country, rnb, etc.) there must be 700 songs that are ranking somewhere each week. TCBU, with more than 200 spins/day, is only at # 8556 ON AMAZON.COM. What a success. And with less spins, it ranked at about #8000/#9000 last week. Saleswise, there is not much difference. Beware, the rankings of airplay are based on the number of spins, not on the audience ! Chris Brown is #25 but has twice the audience of TBCU ! In fact, TBCU is #31 in term of audience. Things haven't change since last week, you see. And the audience is what impacts the charts. That's why the numbers are still low. But I hope it will get higher and higher and THAT PRINCe makes a music video and promote it. But it won't happen. [Edited 2/16/15 0:06am] | |

Unfortunately young fans don't buy REAL MUZIQ by REAL musicians. Muziq sells is not where the money is anymore 4 multi, talented, gifted artist like . But young fans will go see him live. Which is actually where the real dough is 4 multi talented artist like . Whose is the BEST performer live, that anyone would get their monies worth seeing. Which is why he can command in the millions in performance fees,4 just two hours of his valuable time. Just like Streisand.. Don't Hate... will ALWAYS think of like a "ACT OF GOD"! 2 weeks ago, you were bragging about D'angelo and Prince being on the same chart and seeing who would chart the highest. I'm not a big D'angelo fan but to say "young fans don't buy real music by real musicians" is a copout now that Prince's song "This Could Be Us" is lagging in airplay. It doesn't matter even if Prince had a number 1 song with a bullet on any chart: payola, popularity and artist career trajectory heavily determine commericial success. 3121 #1 THIS YEAR | |

One other thing : the initial sales of the album. AOA's sales were so low that radios who usually plays new singles of Prince were not interested to play it this time, because they know the audience doesn't care about. D ANGELO's album initial sales were twice that of Prince, it's easier to play him on radio. If prince had the numbers of D ANGELO it would have been another story | |
