He doesn't know.
The rights to his masters were given back to him by Warners. The copyright info on iTunes has been changed to reflect that. It has nothing to do with remasters. We've all heard that some of the albums are getting remastered. This is not related to that. | |

Well, hopefully the sound will be normalized across everything. Nothing hurts the ears more than jammin' to "The Cross", then having "P Control" blast your ear drum out. |

It likely will simply be dumbed down extra loud over compressed files that we could make on our own by simply raising the sound levels. I'm terrible with this sort of thing, but at least I can make a somewhat louder but not too loud version of the Black Album for my own listening experience. This Itunes thing will probably just be the original versions way too loud with distortion. | |

Regardless if they are or not anyway, iTunes only deals in a weak Bitrate quality rather than Lossless or 320 mp3. | |

^^^^^ I go from listening to that album with the volume really loud, and then to another album and nearly blast my ear drum out because i forgot the voume was so high. | |

Not true re: "weak bitrate." . True, iTunes does not sell lossless tracks. But what they do sell (256 kbps AAC) sounds better than 320 kbps mp3s. There is no relation whatsoever between Prince's back catalogue being on iTunes, the copyright notice reflecting the rights reversal and anything being remastered. This thread is sheer nonsense and its title is misleading.
