What's the most surreal experience you had as a result of "Rico Suave" blowing up?

I remember opening up for Prince in Minneapolis for this big Special Olympics event. That day, I was hanging out with Warren Beatty and he said, "Hey, you want to go to Prince's afterparty?" So Warren and I went to Prince's house – the players of all players – and as we walk in, Prince was coming down the stairs. Do you remember the "Billie Jean" video where Michael Jackson is walking and the steps are lighting up? Prince was doing that in his house. That's the type of entrance that Prince was making. He came down and met me and after that, it was. . .well, you know what happens at those types of parties.

Well. [Sighs] He went off into the studio with some friends and a couple of girls. Me and Warren were hanging out with a couple of girls. This was a private party with the elite of the elite. It wasn't like 400 people. Bobby Shriver was also there, so I was like, "Why am I hanging out with the Kennedy clan? What the heck am I doing here?" At the end of the day, I was just looking out for the finest girl there. That was my life for a long time.

So the party was hanging out in a studio with a couple of people?

sounds like a illuminati gathering to me.

So Prince had a party and left the people invited to the party in order to go into his studio with some chicks and his band members?

Sounds exactly like what I've imagined "partying" with Prince would be like. I'd see a glimpse of him and then he'd disappear somewhere. I'd have to spend the rest of the night speaking with nobodies and some chicks that thought they might get laid with Prince

Gerardo, he had like one hit and it was universally loathed as froth. Was he also mento Roser or that other Spanish type dude who had a hit back in 1990.

I don't know about that, I have several of his albums/singles and he's continued to record up to this day, but most are in Spanish. Here's one of Gerardo's latter day singles

When he first blew up I loved his track, but I was a little kid, I don't know what adults thought of him. He remained pretty popular for a while, at least in the urban latino community, him and Vico C were two of the first rappers that I started listening to.

I thought he was cool and funny in "Cant Buy Me Love". As for "Rico Suave"...I loved it...one of the funniest songs ever IMHO.
