Was wondering why this song isn't included on the album.

It rocks and it was performed often during the 3rdeyegirl tour. so why not include it?

Then realized that there's already a song aimed at Bria Valente which is "Anotherlove".

"Screwdriver" could be about Bria as well.

2 songs about her would've been excessive so he chose 1

anyways just expressing some thoughts on why it wasn't included

The original Screwdriver single was very much a Prince effort. It became a 3rdEye thing with the Screwdriver live video and the live shows.

i can't be sure who he's referring to as his screw..

my guess is either Bria or ANdy

As for "Another love"

It must be about some1 he had a relationship with. So i thought of Bria..

I'd say it's about Andi - or at least about the Andi persona she was portraying for the aborted ablum they were making together. Too Young To Dare? Then she broke off the relationship, using the excuse that she thought she was gay, but not yet ready to announce it to the world. Prince accepted this, but felt seriously wounded in his masculinity (Da Bourgoisie, Another Love). The album was cancelled of course, but some of the songs were thought good enough to be kept for the recent album.

Bria disappeared out of the picture 4 of 5 yeas ago (and never was very much in it). He wouldn't be writing songs about her anymore in 2013.

Some here assume that Ain't gona miss u when u're gona is about Bria yet this song was released after Screwdriver. Prince often writes songs years before they are released..

the assumed reason is because the song was released on a different label.

I think screwdriver is more "party-rock". It wouldnt really be in keeping with the rest of the album.

If you really want it on there, then put it on there.

I'm sure you have the technology to do so.

There are many songs Prince has written about real people. He's written a whole lot for Mayte, just for example.

In general, I'd say he mixes in a lot of fiction and just plain sketchy lyrics into the songs that might have been inspired by relationships. However, I am inclined to think that the more recent songs from the last 10-15 years or so aren't as personal as some of the ones he did when he was younger.

That makes sense. Still wish "Screwdriver" was included on PlectrumElectrum and "Fallinlove2nite" was on Art Official Age. I quite like them.

my dissapointment in Plectrum Electrum is it wasn't as bombastic as the live 3rd eye girl, i truly think if it was in a more Foo Fighters rock out style it would of done better on the charts - Let's Go Crazy (Reloaded) would of been an amazing intro track plus the buzz it would of generated would of helped. also the inclusion of Screwdriver and even RnR affair would of improved the overall flow of the album - i would of dumpled ain'trurninaround and stop this train (save those for giveways/b-sides). Also listening to Clouds again and it should've been the lead single with a proper video.
